Explanation needed!

Who was responsible for the balls ups regarding the transfer market this summer?

Why go out trying to sign players that even us fans could clearly see were way above us?

Why sign players then within months they gone again?

Why bring in so many loan signing then only give a few of them minimal time on the pitch, if they weren't any better than the already failing team why bring them in?

We're the club hoping to get lucky this season because most of us fans could see this coming in the middle of August?

And whoever is responsible needs to start taking responsibility!

So ..... Genuine q

and I'm not saying that it's not right

Can anyone explain as they are suggesting HOW the transfer failings were Pellings fault and  entirely / largely down to him ??????

Not in anyway SC ? KB ? SL ?

can anyone explain ?

even a reasonable theory would be interesting .......

this has been done/ debated a million times! Move on. It was a muck up at best but can't do anything about it now so lets get over it and stop going back in time

His reposnibility was day-to-day football operations

John Pelling was the suit in charge of the financial side of transfers. He had performed this role at other clubs so for you to say he wasn't a football man is inaccurate in your context.

If you had said he was incompetent, largely responsible for our current mess and had been rightly axed as a result then I would heartily agree.

How do you move on when every week it is affecting what happens on the pitch and the results we are getting.

if its relevant today why wasn't it relevant last week?... Oh wait because we didn't lose and the badwagon boys are in town tonight.

Its relevant 'today' because it was an appalling result to go along with an appalling performance... players look out of their depth plus we rode our luck alot against Hull

Whoever is responsible the momentum of last season has been wasted, most clubs when moving into a new stadium or improving their facilities try to do so with a bit of momentum to increase attendances.

As it stands the best we can achieve is the excitement of just staying up, watching the rugby on TV last night was perhaps a hint of what a 27k Ashton Gate will look like.

Also, Bristol Rugby were stated as having a squad of 55 players.

So what did you expect from this season, just look at Preston & MK to see the gulf in class between the 2 divisions, we drew with Hull last week, a team that

got £66 milllon for being relegated from the Prem ....Get real m8

Doozerchris

I expected my club to have realistic targets, based on the budget we had.

Is there really not one player in L1 who could have met this criteria, especially when you consider that we bid millions of pounds on players.

A wasted opportunity.

It is something that needs explaining, and properly too.

However some posts on this thread are absolutely right - this topic, along with Cotterill's future,  JET leaving etc only ever rear their head when we have a poor result. When we don't then there's not a peep about them.

Considering we've only won 3 of 19 games this season, it's not really a good argument because most of our results are poor.

Cotts thought last season would miraculously make us the most attractive team to join in the country. Had crazy transfer targets (Gayle and Gray were the two that were made public to start a bidding war but there were others), got pissed off with people when they wouldn't join. Then the window shut.
