This is our Press Release...

GetToTheMatch.com is a completely FREE new service for Football, Rugby Union & Rugby League supporters to travel share with fellow fans, to all of their favourite teams’ home and away matches.

Whether it’s spare seats on a coach, a couple of empty spaces in a car, or you want to split the cost of a taxi to the match with someone from your area, you just select your team, choose which fixture you would like to attend and place a listing for other members to respond to.

There are no sign-up fees, no introduction costs and no commission payments – you simply offer or request seats that are empty, make your arrangements, get to the match and save money, reduce traffic congestion and help the environment. Local business sponsorship enables this service to be completely free for all supporters.

Member profiles tell you what other supporters prefer on their match day and feedback tells you about past travel share experiences with each user. There are ground guides providing information for visiting supporters, where members can also leave feedback on places to eat, drink, park, visit and stay near each stadium.

Would be interested to see the level of success you have with this, and of course good luck, but for me it seems like it will be potentially logistically difficult.  Particularly if you are relying on people you have never met before, it's hard enough relying on people you do know!

Think I'll be sticking with either booking early on the train, megabus or driving if its a late decision to go but will keep this in mind after you've been going for a while and overcome the teething problems that most businesses have.

Thanks for your thoughts. Car share is a massive thing already, across the western world, in general life. This is a sport specific version with a bit more about each club added to the mix and we do not charge any fees to use the service.

We don't aim to stop people using trains etc. It's just another option of travel, for those who it may suit.

(is it ok to wash and dry these soggy tenners? ..they reek. Dont wanna get done for money laundering though.. dammit.)

I thought it was gonna be Guns n Roses' guitarist talking about how much he spends when supporting his club....

Football car share crops up on google, still has Yeovil in the Championship guess that didn't catch on then!

That was part of Liftshare, a big car share website for general life. They charge fees for into' sand mileage etc. GetToTheMatch.com is completely free for all supporters to use and is completely focused on providing Matchday travel share for supporters.

Saw there was an article in the Eve Post today about this site. Seems a good idea, good luck.

There was indeed! First of many in lots of publications, I hope.

Got a few Radio interviews/articles being broadcast next week, so hopefully the PR can snowball!

Cheers mate.
