Why do you think? God knows it's difficult enough being a manager without that extra baggage :(

Perhaps the board and LJ are bigger than that and are courageous enough to ignore the ridiculous and petty grudges of a very small minority.

What 'stuff' does he bring?

A key component in almost reaching the Premier League and certainly in consolidating us in this league.

I think the 'stuff' comment is pretty obvious if you had read this forum over the last 10 years! Or, if you were at AG when he was playing for us.

He totally divides opinions with City fans.

For the record, I thought he was a decent player for us and didn't personally have a problem with him, as our manager I will support him ( as I do all City managers).

But, I'm very concerned that if he doesn't  get results 'very' quickly he will come under far more intense pressure than any other new manager we could have named. I know of City fans who actually have real hate for him ( sad but true) and won't take long to let their feelings known if results don't improve quickly!

Ive never known a new City manager before that will not get any honeymoon period whatsoever ( even Pulis was given a few games!) so hold on to your hats, it could be an interesting few weeks.

I never thought we'd be singing ' Johnson says, bounce around the ground ' again . Let's hope hope Colin gets a championship appointment for my all time       favourite chant to be sung.

Great one for atmosphere, official Twitter account says it's being sung already!

Out of interest, what was this chant - presumably directed at Mr Warnock, but what were the lyrics?

Ummmmmm I hate to break this to you but we are broke. It's only cos SL covers the cost of the boards and his **** ups that we have not gone under.

Ummmm I hate to break it to you but welcome to football! How is our situation any different to most other clubs where a clubs finances rely on their owner. Assuming the lansdowns aren't about to pull the plug then we are a going concern. My point as I'm sure you are aware is we aren't in a Bolton situation!!

As for the boards **** ups, one thing I have never seen the fans on this forum protest about is the club spending money we don't have! In fact many a time it's 'go on SL put your hand in YOUR pocket'

You are talking nonsense Harry.  LJ split the fanbase totally as a player with a substantial number believing he was only picked because of his dad.  Once there's a run of bad results that will resurface immediately.

We all know that once a manager loses the fans he is done for, if you believe any different to that well, you can't be helped.

It's a naive decision at best.

Indeed. I was against the appointment of SC but as soon as it was done I got behind him. Never once did I boo or jeer and I cheered on the team as loud as I always have done. No threats of booing or throwing my season ticket away and never returning. It's bloody ridiculous.

If I was able to get behind SC, inspite of not liking him as a character / person, then why can't others drop their petty grudges for LJ?

Well I would say no names no pack drill but 'certain' people didn't post a lot after SC was appointed especially when results were positive and then we lost heavily at Sheff United and back they came with their sniping and last season was the same every chink of light they sniped and kept away when things were going so well and this season it was like they had OD'd on viagra.

You can trot out the extreme views that you have mentioned something that I agree with you some comments are just plain stupid, but please don't even try to suggest that the people of which we speak dropped their petty grudges against SC at any time because it will just not wash because it's just not true.

Well, anyone thought about him coming here as gaffer? Don't think it would be a wise move for either party but with this board you never know...

@markyou @robintbw

Consider this my official retirement from managerial speculation.

LJ will get my support but good grief this club is set for another 5 years wilting away.

Some won't forget. I couldn't care less about his history but question his suitability, experience for the role at such a crucial time. The failure and events of this season and the people running the club making pie in the sky statements have compounded a feeling of anger and disappointment which will surface pretty quickly if this gamble goes against us.

But why should that resurface? He's the manager now. What anyone thought of him as a player is redundant, surely?

It's petty mate.

It doesn't matter why, it doesn't matter whether or not it's right.  It only matters that it certainly will and that it's very, very predictable.

No, do a bit of research and you will see.

Well off the top of my head I know he took Forest from 23rd to 19th in the championship, dazzling!

And he never finished in the top half of the championship at Burnley (13th and 17th finishes?) and then Owen Coyle took over and took Burnley straight up into the premier league in his first season in charge and in his first ever managerial post, that's success.

Cotts never finished in the top half of the championship, is that success in your book?

I only know of 2 fans of whom you speak who didn't like SC. Myself and KITR.

Neither of us EVER jeered SC at the ground, nor threatened to give up on the club. We both got behind him and the team and sing our butts off at every game

I've also told you previously that I went quiet on otib for a period due to a house move and busy time in my personal life. Nothing to do with being anti-sc.
