CarlBCFC
Quick question - parked my motorbike at Temple Meads on the pavement, not obstructing the pathway. Came back and got a ticket for not parking in a designated bay. Anyone have any similar experiences or advice?

Unfortunately our country is behind civilized nations like Australia where motorbikes can park on the pavement. Got a pay and display ticket on my bike when there is no where on my bike to display the thing. When you park on pavements your in the hands of the mood of the traffic warden. Lots are nice and understand bikes take up limited space, but you only need one jobsworth and you've got a ticket. At temple meads there is a free to park (short stay) parking area for bikes. Was it full? Anyway, ride safe.
CarlBCFC
It was a private company who issued the ticket, not a traffic warden. Yeah I had to park there as I was getting picked up to go to a job for work, so the short stay wouldn't have been long enough for me to park there
Leveller
Private company tickets are not fines but invoices. Don't pay it.

This was always the case but think over the last year the law has changed. Not entirely sure though. Suggest OP fully investigates before taking potentially dated advice.
