BCFC_Josh
Fairplay to Luke Freeman... has received a lot of criticism but I think his recent performances have been a lot better and up to the standards they have been in the last couple of seasons. Also chipped in with a goal today something which a lot of people have hounded him for. Thoughts?
Guest
Long time coming. Not only in terms of being overdue, but the way he's been playing he deserved a goal. Think we'll see a purple patch of goals now.

JM91
Anyone with half a football brain can tell Luke Freeman is a very talented player. The criticism of him has been unjustified. He's clearly rediscovered his confidence and has improved his final ball & decision making massively this season.
Fiale
He has cut out the pointless step overs and jinking around when it's not needed, much more direct and dangerous... welcome back Luke !

Nomad
I too am very pleased for him. Had to raise his game with all the competition for a starting place. With a fully fit squad he wouldn't get in my starting 11 but that's the great thing, strength in depth and competition raises everyone's standards (hopefully and with good man management). Ivorguy
Saw him first playing for Stevenage against us. Was real quality in league 1. My assumption is that the coaching under Lee, like everything else, has improved enormously and Freeman is now reaching his potential. Goodness alone knows what Lee's squad will look like in terms of quality after two more Windows and a full season's coaching COYR Still believe, and now more strongly than ever after the team selections for the two matches this week, that Lee is the real McCoy. Watch out Man City, Bristol City are gearing up!
Flagon
Really pleased for Freeman to score. He is always lively and involved and I'm hoping he is learning from the likes of Tomlin when to release the ball. There's no doubting he has ability and I think he gets a lot of criticism by his own doing as he constantly gets into great positions only to take a step over too far or wrong choice when passing. But the fact he is creating and always getting into these positions in the first place shows with just a bit more speed of thought he could still turn out to be great for us in this division. samo II
As with Little, I think Freeman's improvement and increasing involvement is a really good sign of our set up now - yes; we're bringing in good new players, but we're also improving those that we have. Chuffed for Luke; when you see how unlucky he was not to notch on Wed, you could see this as putting him over the top and cermenting his progress. I'll put my hand up as one who thought the arrivals of O'Dowda and Patterson might see him slowly vanish from the first team, but he's risen to the challenge for places and now it's really a case of mix-and-match with all of them. Shtanley
Played very well today. Thought he'd missed his goal though. Great defensive work
BS4 on Tour...
Really pleased for Luke, he seems more confident, more assured and more like a championship player. And he's still young. We've got a fine player there
Cider red
He's received a lot of unfair criticism this season IMO. Although his final ball/product isnt always right he has really picked up his performances and impacted games. Seems as though competition for places has brought the best out of him. exAtyeoMax
Last season, he was definitely lacking in confidence. I hope he can kick on now, as I think he has the talent - probably needs a bit of support form us lot (which he has done in the last couple of games) - and he will improve. I think the Cotts' debacle really set him back…
shelts
Fair play to him scoring today. Hair is much better. Not for me I'm afraid. Busy. No end product . Better than last season.

cidercity1987
Well done Luke but one goal a season does not make. Much more should be expected for him to retain a place ahead of ODowda who must be on about 4 assists already.
1960maaan
I've never doubted there is a player there, I just wish he was more aware of what's on around him. Really hoping LJ can work him magic and improve him. I love to be proved wrong by City players I'm not sure about.
Taylor10
Interestingly he was very poor today. He looked short on energy which is very unlike him. Maybe he's been trying too hard?? New hair and a goal today has to be a turning point for him fingers crossed!!
Guest
A bit disappointing that a thread congratulating a player on a long-overdue, hard earned and deserved goal has less posts than a thread on Villa-Newcastle.
JamesBCFC
Congratulations Luke. I still have my doubts to be honest, though he clearly has some talent. My concern is he rarely (in the Championship at least) gives an end product to his tricky runs. Really hope he kicks on from here.

Barry Sheene
It's quite simple if he's not playing well he out of the side. Similar to me at work if I don' t perform someone else will come in and do my job.

If not, I think he'll be getting close to one. Pack has only just signed his. Unless we really want to offload a player, I think we need to be prepared to keep players contracted. Freeman has always had value, would be criminal to let a player like him go on a free, when it would cost a considerably inflated amount to bring in a replacement.
