slartibartfast
Once again, no praise from a defeated manager for City. LJ nearly always says what decent team the opposition were (even Fulham). I get the feeling that the "big boys" can't handle being stuffed by the likes of Bristol City, well they'll have to get used to it !
DavidNoble
It reminds me a lot of 2007/2008 early on when lots of managers had to make excuses for losing to "little bristol city". No worries. Don't notice us. We'll go about our work quietly...
Up The City!
The comparisons with that season and there for everyone to see. Lj has also started to do fist pumps at the Ss just like his old man.
Red-Robbo
Haha. The mad Monk. Certainly was mad when he was sent to the stands after mouthing off to the 4th official. I loved it when he tried to sit down on the wall of the dugout and then had to be escorted to a seat by a steward. What an arse. Anyone who can claim Leeds created the most chances in that game, is completely deluded.

lenred
Gets a bit touchy when he hasn't got his main wingman asking the questions doesn't he?! To be fair though he did say we are a good team on a few occasions.

Personally I thought last night that Leeds reminded me of the old "dirty Leeds" under Don Revie of the 70s. They weren't taking any prisoners. Tammy got a whack in the eye apparently and both Flint and Pack got flattened.
BS3City
On a serious note if "little Bristol City" are gonna cause visiting managers such angst that there is a risk of them incurring the wrath of match officials surely we should make more adequate provision in the event of banishment to the stands? Poor old Monk seemed to be at a complete loss last night! How can we ever compete with the big boys when we can't even get these basics right? How about reserving a specific seat for such circumstances, or maybe more adequate signage? Just another example of where we aren't quite the finished article just yet... Olé
Based on the video interview @Big Brother has shared, I couldn't really fault Monk's comments, seemed pretty fair and balanced and largely reflective of a close game. I really wouldn't expect him to say anything else other than to be a bit more snide about the referee (given his sending off) but even on that he sounds quite regretful and realistic. If I was nit-picking I would challenge two things. He says they created all the clear cut chances but I don't think Fielding was worked particularly hard. He also says there was a foul by Pack in the build up to the goal - I suggest he watches the video as there clearly isn't - but I actually love his reasoning which is that the ref was giving that sort of thing all night. He's right, the ref was very fussy and it wouldn't have been at all surprising if a nothing free kick was given there too.
Kodjias Wrist
Monk was complimentary both before and after the game, not only calling us playoff contenders but a strong side who are very good offensively. If thats not praise i dont know what is.

Natchfever
I must have heard a different interview . I thought Gary Monk was as complimentary of us as any manager who's good run comes to an end is likely to be.

The standard polite praising of the opposition won't be the headlines that the BBC pick out for quotes. It's pretty uninteresting everyone else apart from our supporters. Ska Junkie
I was impressed that our young side didn't 'fold' due to the physical stuff. We ended up dishing some out as well which really pleased me. We really could be at the start of something good here, happy days.
Red white and red
I couldn't care less if we never get praise by other managers. If we never get a mention on any football show, pundits never talk about us and we only get a 20 second slot on that channel 5 show. We all know we have something special going here and if we keep going the way we are going then we will get plenty of acknowlement in the prem... A few years ago Arsene Wenger was sent off at Old Trafford and had to stand in a walkway because there were 0 seats available. There were plenty of seats around last night (circa 7000). The problem would have been Monk just acting like a dick.
