QPR Away

I'll be there with a mate who lives in London.

Got a gold ticket, bit of a pisser if the view is restricted, but hopefully we'll have a good contingent there.

There's a bavarian themed pub in Fulham in which I'll be getting 'steiny' pre-game.

I'm planning on going albeit on my jack, would be interested to know what pubs any London / SE fans are meeting up in for the purposes of loitering and attempting to join conversations etc. Like some of the other posters I'm affected by the Southern strike, but have a plan a, b & c given that the SE coast is effectively a no-go area from London after 9pm

But more importantly which pub are us London reds drinking in.? DIfficult to get in to the ones round the ground was thinking of Hammersmith for beer then tube

Try the Hammersmith Ram just along King St from the station. They do a terrific burger (the Infamous Ham Ram) and have a couple of decent ciders on draft.

Caulkers headed equaliser deep into injury for a 2-2 draw. See picture next to my OTIB name was indeed a cause of 'great joy'; plus a long toe poke from the much underused Brett Pitman.

wasn't Paddy Kenny's biological father manager Neil Warnock in charge then? can't wait for us to win there. as I've never seen us win there before, my support of City at QPR started with a 5-1 loss to a Rodney Marsh inspired thumping hat trick just after his first England call up. so i hope this time i don't bring them bad luck

Only went once and City lost 3-0 with Patrick Agyemang having a great game. I think City signed him on loan the following season...the less said about that loan spell the better!

When was the last time City returned with 3 points from the ground? Think they won on pens in a cup game 10 odd years ago?

To answer my own question! 2002 was the LDV Vans cup victory.

The last league victory was in 1977.

I can't make it to the QPR game, which is a shame because I've always considered it a good away day, at least up until the game because I'd echo what others have said in that I've never seen City play particularly well there. I'm still slightly scarred by my first visit there early in the relegation season in the late 90s when they equalised deep in injury time - that late goal seemed to knock our confidence and set the tone for that season.

I was at that one too and I was quite excited about us signing Agyemang based his performance in that game. What a letdown he was (and that's an understatement).

Going on Tuesday hope it is a better experience than my last visit!

The pub we were in Walkabout in Shepards bush was surrounded by the met. We were escorted like cattle to the wrong side of the ground. Arriving in our seats 15 mins after kick off City already 1-0 down. Let's hope for a better time on Tuesday

77/78.

It didn't hit Parkes on the leg thankfully, but living temporarily in London at the time, the Thames News (?) on the Monday evening led with the story and showed a close up of the knife stuck in the mud near the penalty spot.

We ended up in Soho after that '78 game, and were there late enough to see the Sunday papers piled up outside the newsagents for the morning.

On the front pages was a close up picture of a Man.Utd fan with a dart stuck in his nose, thrown across the Anfield Road End by a Liverpool supporter.

As said earlier, following your team away certainly was a very different experience in those days!
