RIP John although it does sound from his family`s statement that it was a release in the end. The Alzheimers he had was a particularly awful case and he`d had no quality of life for a few years now.

I remember talking to Peter Purves years ago when he was making a corporate video for our company and he said working with John was an absolute delight.

Roy Barraclough aka Alex Gilroy from Corrie.

Also know for dragging it up with Les Dawson in the famous Cissy and Ada sketches.

RIP.

The really spooky thing is that I was daydreaming at the weekend and for some reason was reminiscing about those sketches.

Weird.

RIP Roy

Actor Peter Sallis has died at the age of 96, his agents have announced.

He was best known for appearing in Last of the Summer Wine and was also famous as the voice of Wallace in Wallace and Gromit.

Major RIP.

Knew he was getting on a bit but always thought he'd be one of those that would just go on for years yet.

Waiting for a sad Gromit picture now just to make it worse...

Andy Cunningham of childrens TV fame has passed away losing his battle with cancer

Andy played handyman Simon Bodger, whose best mate was a beret-wearing badger

Absolutely gutted. My favourite programme as a kid. If you didn't chuck your mash at the wall after watching it (and made your mum go spare) you haven't lived.

RIP Bodger

Adam West, Batman from the TV series.

Rest In Peace

Another one from my childhood... as a child of the 80s, watching re-runs of the movie and the tv show, Adam West was and is Batman for me.

Keaton, Bale etc had nothing on this guy.

RIP.

or Holy Reincarnations Batman!

Oh wow, was it in colour..... we had a B&W TV then!  One family nearby had a colour TV and when Apollo (whichever one was the first to the moon) went up, the whole street was in one house watching it in colour.

I just want to signal the premature passing of my cousin , Clare , nes Gedge from Pill.

She was a gentle, kind person and taken way too young .

She was a big City supporter and I'm sure many of you would have known her .

My thoughts and love go out to her family and loved ones.

RIP Clare.
