Tonight's game is massive. Rowett waits in the wings. Defeat should spell the end of the madness

I really don't know why tonight's game is so massive or pivotal.

Anyone can see that the damage has been done over the past 10 or so games.

Over that period Lee has proved that he is tactically inept.

One game won tonight or indeed the next couple of games won't change what has been a disastrous spell under his management.

The worry is, if he stays, I can see more 'bad runs' ahead punctuated by the odd win.

Why did you put:

"Just interestEd to know if folks are wanting us to lose?"

in your post then : implied you were talking about the Fleetwood match?

Just read the thread. I was responding to post #ID 12 which regarded the league cup which was mentioned in response to my enquiry to a different poster as to whether he was hoping we lose to Fleetwood in the FA Cup.

If LJ loses tonight and then again on Saturday, imo he will leave by mutual consent............but, just stumbled across this.........how credible it is I dont know, but has Rowett been put on standby?

I wish I could be as excited about Rowett as so many others seem to be.

I'd be more excited about John Major taking charge than LJ!!!

I never want city to loose and fingers crossed we win and by God Lee needs one. If the worse happens I don't think we can give Lee Saturdays game sadly. There comes a time when the board have to act. Give the new man a couple of weeks of the window left to fdo some work.

I would never want us to lose. I am however feeling numb about the club at the moment as many of us are. If we have to lose a cup game to move us forward then we might need to. Though I hope to be at the Stadium of Light for round 4. We missed out on Monk let's not do the same for Rowett. Keep LJ on the coaching staff.

Managerial statistics[edit]

As of match played 13 December 2016
Managerial record by team and tenure
Team From To Record Ref
P W D L Win %
Burton Albion 17 March 2012 27 October 2014 142 63 34 45 44.4 [11]
Birmingham City 27 October 2014 14 December 2016 106 42 32 32 39.6 [11]
Total 248 105 66 77 42.3

Very good stats for Rowett, improving poor sides with little money in a short time, also likes a "project". Talks sense in interviews and doesn't over coach his teams. If the axe does fall we are very lucky to have this man potentially in the wings.

Similar credentials to LJ then. At least LJ has never been in charge of a side that has lost 7-1 to Rovers!!
