Poshtottie
The interview was revealing in my humble opinion. I have covered this already though. In this post I agree with Lansdown to some degree but how can he expect people to blindly support the club when they don't believe the direction it is travelling is correct and while the manager and players still get their fat cheques at the end of the month! Most of us are busy paying the bills and he wants us to spend what little we have left supporting something many don't believe in anymore. Well OK I will when the manager and players agree to give their wages to local charity for the next eleven games!

Mr Popodopolous
I wouldn't give it to most organised charities though, like most religion- great on paper, arguably disproportionate rewards at the top (most charities anyway). http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/11435754/32-charity-bosses-paid-over-200000-last-year.html

Footballers might well be paid too much but they still will have budgeted their income and signed contracts for services and things based on what they are paid. I doubt they can easily just give up their entire wages...

Was that really the article you intended to link to? Charity pay is a really interesting thing and maybe a great subject for the politics forum but it is a way more complex and nuanced picture than these sorts of headlines tend to suggest... In a hurry, busy so I linked to one of the first article on search. You're right a debate for politics forum, non football forum- I would say Charity sector in general a good debate for politics forum in fact. David Brent
Far as I can see, the players are doing their jobs. Or rather what they've been told to do.
Albert
Ive heard some rubbish in my time, does the OP donate his wages if he has a bad day at work? Pay double subs if he plays and his team lose? Yes the runs not acceptable , Yes the final blame falls with the manager... but that is the game of football sometimes. Good goals beat you (Forest) Poor refereeing beats you (Reading away) sometimes it is not down to tactics or how much effort you put in , the Championship is so even between sides this year it is incredible and we are on the wrong end of it, some due to the manager, some to the players and shockingly enough some due to quality opponents !! To suggest that if you dont win you give your wages away is laughable. What did anybody expect apart from a rallying cry from Steve Lansdown ??
