Not sure the players would thank anyone for highlighting their cars / reg no's !!!

(Although the ones with personalised plates can't really argue that !!! )

Always wonder why they have to have personalised plates - can only attract hassle

I stopped putting my name on my belongings after primary school. Why do people insist on personalised plates?

Other than Flint, the only other players cars I can remember were from years ago...

Lee Miller had a Honda S2000 and I think he had a personalised plate but I'm f****d if I can remember.

Steve Phillips had the famous S70PPA reg (should have been F74PPA) but can't remember his car.

David James had a tricked up Ford Focus ST.

And the winner was...

Scott Murray in a CANARY YELLOW Renault Megane soft top. A shocking car.

Was Lee Miller's S1TTA? (Still getting flashbacks of that header at Swindon).

Wayne Allison drove an old Ford Escort the season he scored 20+ goals and was valued at £1m. You could not get more grounded and down to earth than the Chief. Puts most modern footballers to shame.

Do we have to start another thread to discuss players who get the bus? Didn't Greg Goodridge used to get the number 24 to the ground? And one of our more recent foreign players from memory too?

This thread, reminded me of a story about sports cars and footballers having lower back pain and hamstring problems after driving them. Ryan Giggs was the most prominent one. Interesting story here, about training, injuries and how to avoid them. I wonder if Matthews, GoN and Smith do these types of exercises and warm ups.

I have noticed that over the years our subs don't do enough warming up...as the article says...they should be sweating before they come on. So many come on cold...it can't help with injuries.

It would make sense to me, to have a warm up coach at the side of the pitch with the subs, organising stretching and exercises to keep muscles warm. Something teams neglect imo. It doesn't make sense to have Subs sat there watching, then job for a minute and then expected to come on and explode into action. That's surely an injury waiting to happen...

When I used to work for a certain prestige car company, there were 'preferential rates' for City players. This was between around 2003-2008.

Saw plenty coming into the place, worked on a few of them too.

When players/staff signed, they'd sometimes be in that very same week. The likes of Nick Carle and Gary Johnson to name only two.

Also remember David Cotterill getting himself a swish motor when he broke through.

Somebody seemed quick to put you down on this; not exactly wrong there @Robbored

They are not leased via the club.

The contract would be in the players name

Where did you find that nugget eh spud? The original Ashton Angels? Bet they were cold running round Bedminster in a pair of pants and a t-shirt.

Funny how things work out SP...The Major on here mentioned Kevin Mabbutt in another thread...whilst having my morning coffee, I thought I'd watch his hatrick at Old Trafford on youtube again...then stumbled on this interview...and would you believe it....the passion wagon was touring schools with the Ashton Angels. It's towards the end of the interview. How times have changed....

Any 'serious' City player should be driving one of these... A Bristol Bullet. So gorgeous, sounds amazing and true Bristol heritage. I want one. 007 should be driving this car...just look at it...

I've got one of these, 1952 Bristol 401. Bought it many years ago for restoration but still needs re assembling.

Jeez Spud. What a find!

3 or 4 birds in the back of the van with Kevin Mabbutt. I'm sure they didn't mind but that van looks bloody tiny. Oh and did Kev do all the driving? 400 schools across the west to give kids a chance to be in his fan club. What an ego trip for Kev! :clapping:

Great footage; it's been a while since I've seen it.

For those of us who weren't around during his time.

1) How good was he?

2) Where was his flat? Looks familiar. Clifton?

He was the real deal, I first saw him in a friendly against Man. City when he was 15 (?) and was there for the hat trick at Old Trafford. Very talented and a natural eye for goal. Thrived alongside Joe Royle.

A friend is a Palace fan and rates KM as one of their best signings. Sadly plagued by injury and forced to pack up too early.

Think he lived in Leigh Woods.
