Tears in rain
Saw this and I wouldn't feel comfortable him playing this distribution with our side in the championship! But well done him!

Robin 101
Class act by the looks of it but I'm already nervous imagining Flint or Little getting the ball in some of those areas. Probably be forced out of his game by others failings at this club
Robin1988
That is some of the worst pressing I have ever seen. They get in position and then just give up.
Slippin cider
The couple of times I saw him play with us made my nerves bad! ...

bh_red
What frustrating is that there is NO DOUBT he had great potential and is going to be a great keeper. but it won't be for us.
SedRA
A lot of this is quite similar to how Giefer plays but he gets slated for it with us. These guys are used to playing this way and normally can trust playing the ball out like this because the defenders will know how to deal with it. I think Giefer's a lot better than he's given credit for, he's just working with defenders that aren't up to the level of keeping possession the way he's used to. Bat Fastard
How could he possibly be a decent player - he was signed by Lee Johnson.

Last evening, I watched Schalke playing Moenchengladbach in the Europa League and both keepers gave short passes to defenders when there were attackers in close proximity without any problems whatsoever. It's an accepted way of distribution for German keepers. German defenders clearly better on the ball than some Championship defenders.

They are better in possession, but defending as a whole they are awful, most games have a team scoring 3-4-5 goals. I'd rather have iffy passes from the keeper then plain awful defending. Not to say we have great defenders, but we aren't leaking 4 goals every week.
JamesBCFC
He was doing passes like that against Preston, at one point he did a lovely lifted ball over an attacker to Magnusson or Bryan, crowd weren't particularly happy with it

Giefer is from Schalke isn't he?
