22A
OK gas; you say you are catching City up and today you are away to Northampton. You've a lot to live up to as last time City played there; 1; Sky thought it would be interesting enough so they televised it. 2; Northampton took the lead. 3; City had a man sent off, but 4; City won 3-1 and went on to win automatic promotion. 2006-07 season City travelled to Northampton who were managed by former City Assistant Manager John Gorman and had former players John Burnell and Sean Dyche playing for them. Northampton took an early lead, but City keeping their composure, looked menacing. Cotterill went on a run and took the ball round three defenders before being fouled. Phil Jevons slotted home the resultant penalty. Just before half time Bradley Orr was sent off for head butting fellow defender Louis Carey. City were determined however and started the second half with two forwards. Steve Brooker beat two defenders and put City ahead with a shot that deflected off Dyche. Williams went on a run towards the end until being fouled by Dyche. Cotterill who had run the game converted that resultant penalty to seal a 3-1 win.

I`d sooner they emulated our performance there under TC in 1982, albeit at their old ground.

I'd also laugh if they emulated their performance away at the Cobblers in the 1998 play offs - after a 3-1 home victory in the first leg, the gas were spouting off about a play off final appearance being a formality - it was rumoured they even pre-booked the coaches to Wembley....then three days later they lost the second leg 3-0 at Northampton to go tumbling out! Happy Days!

adamski
Great review of Camp Site from the Football Ground Guide ”The away end is covered, but by a plastic tent thing, which seemed quite temporary. The seats were right by the home Family Stand. Early in the first half a drain pipe on our stand was hit by a wayward shot from a Bristol Rovers player and it crashed to the floor. Luckily no one was hurt. The rest of the Memorial Stadium looked impressive.” Given the last sentence one might have to question the writer’s sanity. A Port Vale fan, so he is used to much better! BCFC11
Bodin pulls his hamstring whilst scoring, replaced by their £300k signing who still hasn’t scored, Rovers get a pen 5mins later and said striker misses
