Maybe it's this year that they have the new system. May your case is a simple oversight, either way it's no major hassle, is it.

As in concessions only flash up on the turnstiles as a different colour, but that doesn't stop someone claiming they have an under 12 year old, but then letting a 14/15 year old use it for the season. I'm not explaining this very well, they're trying to cut down on fraud and so if they've seen proof of age for that person named on the season ticket then they know for definite how old they are, and also when they will move up into the next age bracket for definite. That logic would suggest that you would need to bring proof of age with you when you enter the stadium. If they are trying to reduce people using concessioned tickets they don't qualify for then buying them correctly is only 50% of the issue. Surprised they haven't introduced photo tickets yet so there is no exchanging if you can't make it.

In this day and age, people should have to scan their thumb print to get in and not need a "ticket" of any kind. Having said that, I'm sure an increase in digits going missing from the local mortuary would raise some suspicions.

Dates of birth could be incorporated into ticket holders membership numbers.........like driving licence numbers, and meaning no need to ever ask again. That would require each ticket holder to be checked upon entry.....which is ok up to around 2:30pm, but after that, would be impossible.
