This is a tragedy and, clearly, there has been a failure, probably several, somewhere. Nevertheless, I remain sceptical that anybody will ever be charged, much less convicted, of any offence, although, ultimately, 'lessons will have been learned'. David Lammy is a ****, just imagine his outrage if one of his constituents was arrested without any evidence?. The failures are more than a few, they are systemic throughout the whole process of planning, the refit itself, the signing off and then the landlord responsibility of checking who was actually living in the building etc. I suspect politically somebodies will be made scapegoats but almost certainly not the rich and powerful (that will have to wait for about another 28 years) but somewhere down the food chain somebody will be sacrificed for now as appeasement.
