Every penny was re-invested in the team no it wasn't the money spent on the summer signings was before we sold him, Kodja still played for bristol city until 30/08/16 we signed Engvil after that for 1.3 million raising to 2 then spent a further 3 million odd in jan, We also sold Agard for about 750l, Williams for around 300k and Ayling for around 750k The reason we spent more money wasn't because of Kodja it was because of increase attendances and off field monies brought about by the new ground giving us the ability to have more clout in the transfer market
BRISTOL86
We invest in the squad every single year. I know people like to pretend like LJ was given a war chest, the likes of which we've never seen before, but that's bollocks.

Net spend of....nil if all of the add ins are realised in the Kodjia deal. Hold the front page. The board knew full well in the summer that Kodjia would not see out the end of August. SL was prepared to give Cotterill £10m for a single player, with no outgoings, so you could argue that he was backed even more generously than little Lee. Bottom line is City managers have, and will, always be backed under Lansdown.

Garland-sweden
Ok, we spent money to survive, and we did. Last season was the second in this division, often difficault. Think this season we will be better than the last. The new players hav had a season and LJ knows them better. Its a longterm thinking and the new players of last season will pay off this season I think. As a Club I think City is on the right track. New stadium, bigger crowds and hopefully we will be a good team in this leauge.

Its true mind, do people forget the bids for Gayle and Gray or what as im slightly baffled?.. We had a 9 million bid accepted for a single player yet some will still bleat on that Steve Cotterill wasn't backed by the board... GIVE...IT...A...REST! REDOXO
18 minutes ago, bris red said: GIVE...IT...A...REST! My understanding is SC made early approaches for Gray and Gayle. These approaches were questioned and held up, by our board. They were subsequently approved but the players declined to come. Both probably made the right decision for their careers in retrospect. SC IMO thought big but the players he wanted thought they were out of our league. SCs vision of the way ahead was not shared by SL. This caused friction and little change on the pitch.
