Well I think joe is getting better. More good then bad games to finish the season. Really his first season as a championship LB. Actually he probably has less than 46 games at LB in his championship career. I'm willing to see if he adapts

I think it'll prove interesting to see how Bryan is used this term; LJ has made a point of insisting he can be a left back, so he'll undoubtedly be there come the season's start - I just hope he looks a lot more solid and aware in defensive scenarios than he did last season, as I'm not convinced he's got the mentality for the role.

We have the quality here - Who in your opinion? I am struggling to think of players who are quality. Interested to see how this forward turns out. I do like Đurić however.

It was proven end of last season. - And what about the other 30 odd games? League position did not lie

A few more acquisitions would be great and I expect a few more. We hit form to finish the season and that core is still here. - As do I, last season is last season, no guarantee that form will carry over.

They are showing the ambition and people are still moaning. That's my biggest problem. I get many don't have an affinity for LJ which is fair enough but he's here. Might as well get behind him and the lads. - What ambition? LJ is still here, we haven't signed enough quality to move away from the bottom. I am also tired of this shit "get behind the lads" too many fans at this club put on a happy face, anywhere else, knives would be drawn. We are too nice of a club.

Respect your opinion Joe. However, I'm obviously more fed up than you are.

The 30 odd games before when Tomlin was involved, it's no coincidence that we played our best football without the disruptive shit stiring cretin, and if the tweets coming out from press and some people so say itk that most of the team are also happy he is gone then it says all you need to  know

talented footballer yes, but we are a much better TEAM without him talent will only get you so far, hard work and TEAMWORK will get you further

we are better off without that waste of wages

Stockhausen tweeting that the players won't miss him, Not one player has tweeted congrats on the move, or good luck ... is that a sign he wasn't well liked ....

also Timman posting that the club always comes first (liked by Jon Lansdown).. all points towards him being a dick, and the team and club will be a happier one without him here

I thought it was very telling that he never seemed to socialise with the other players or have much interaction at all with them off the pitch. Seems a pretty tight knit group but no congratulatory tweets etc. and that tweet from Tinnion.

Clearly a lot more to the situation than meets the eye. Bad apple, seemingly.

LT has form for charming clubs by losing weight http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2951540/Lee-Tomlin-two-stone-overweight-Middlesbrough-star-devour-Arsenal.html

So in summary I think...

Most city fans are glad he's gone.

Tomlin allegedly offered to "knock LJ out". All who overheard were gobsmacked.

Tomlin allegedly has been teaching the nanny how to play hide the sausage.

Only Tammy, Đurić and Famara have sent good luck messages to him on Insta.

Staff are allegedly glad to see the back of him as well as 98% of the squad...

Has that covered it?

Shouldn't that be Tomlin allegedly has been teaching the nanny how to play EAT the sausage.

I think LJ showed remarkable restraint at Huddersfield. As Ivan Sproule would attest, the Johnsons are diminutive in stature but ferocious when roused.

Bloody hell.  Been away so missed the news until now.  Two words.  Man Management.  Warnock can - Johnson can't and Howe couldn't

Will miss Tomlin who, when he is motivated, was the best player we have had over the last few years.

Slight correction for accuracy.

All the posts have missed the real victims in all this: The dozen of new employees in the pie van, taken on with the knowledge of a three year increase in sales due to Tomlin’s contract. Shares have plummeted. Jobs are now at risk. Think of the children.

But that's the real reason he has gone to Cardiff !!!

You learn how to manage people through experience, much learning comes from reflecting on events. Colin is in his 60s, Lee in his 30s. Give him a break folks, and judge him after this coming season. He will have learned lots from the last one, let's see what happens as a result.

Nooo.  You've either got it or you haven't. Age has FA to do with it

And Eddie Howe didn't manage it either but he's doing ok.

There is no manager that is able to manage every player, so it is impossible to say whether or not Warnock and Tomlin will work well. Take Alex Ferguson for example, even he had issues with players (e.g. Jaap Stam) and he is arguably one of the best man managers in history.

And to say you can't learn it is a load of bollocks! It comes with experience as per any aspect of managing.

Nail on head.

Football is about results, it's about continuous improvement. Players/fans and normally owners, can't wait a season or 3  while the manager learns his trade (or, more likely, fails to learn his trade) and gets up to speed.

You don't do an apprenticeship in the Championship.

I can only think that SL has a different model to the other 91 league clubs, believes our manager is potentially a 'worldie'' and will remain loyal to the Club should the likes of Chelsea come knocking at our door in a couple of season's time when we are pressing for a place in Europe.

Can't say he has impressed me to date and feel that he will be doing nothing other than fighting relegation battles from the Championship. Sure he'll prove me wrong. I certainly hope so.

If he has learned...which I'm beginning to see signs of....then we will be ok.  If he hasn't, you won't get the chance to review him at the end of the season.

I admire Lansdown for sticking by Lee, he certainly didn't get egg on his face...but he's also not one to go down with the ship...Lee will be gone if he thinks he's wasted that golden opportunity he's been given.

3 million and id imagine 20 k a week over the bridge. A lot of money for the sheep to fork out for a player who has NEVER shown any consistency anywhere he has been. He did nothing here last season other than cause controversy, no lose.

If the comments about the argument at huddersfield is broadly accurate, and from all reports, and tinnions tweet, it seems to be, then it certainly is best for all that lazy slob gets out of the club. Hes made himself very wealthy from arranging his departure from a long line of clubs, we are lucky to have got rid of him, i suspect in a year or so the same thing will happen with cardiff, but by then he will be another year older and transfer value they receive will be less. Their problem now though. As an aside, you cant threaten your boss, god knows ive wanted to do it, surely you have to resepct the fact they hold some position of authority and understand that you cant talk to people like that... unless you know the consequence is that you get to make another fortune by switching employers.

A few years back I was a sales manager with a financial services company and remember interviewing any number of advisers who were looking for the company that would enable them to fulfil their potential. It was their 4/5/6 previous companies and managers that had been the problem - nothing to do with the adviser.

Tomlin strikes me as a footballer with similar ambitions.

Fair appraisal.

The 'green shoots' of the improved performances and results towards the end of the season, indeed, gives some hope. My hope is a little dampened by the Brum performance and the lamentable effort at Torquay which demonstrated to me at least that we're light years away from a sustainable model that SL wants to build.

Love SLs vision, but remain concerned about its delivery.

The transfers this Summer are going to be critical - which shouldn't be the case as this window should have been just 'fine tuning'. The two players we've bought in to date in key positions are unfamiliar with the Championship and have got to deliver immediately. Big ask.

Anyhows, onwards and upwards.

Fair appraisal too.

I was disappointed by the Torquay result too.  Sounded like Ivan kept us in.  It was a young side, but at some point we are expecting some if them to take their fledgling careers by the scruff of the neck, and turn the, into proper careers.  It is a numbers games at youth level.

From https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/tomlin-departs-for-cardiff-city/

One positive comment:

Quote

“Everyone at Ashton Gate would like to wish Lee all the very best for the future.”

Two digs:

Quote

"Since turning his loan deal into a permanent move, it didn’t quite work out for Lee, as he acknowledged publicly."

and

"....scoring 13 times – six of which came during his initial stint."

The comments from the club imply no sense of loss whatsoever.  There have been more positive words for player departures who haven't even featured for the first team.

Looking at what was written, it's almost a rewording of his AFC Bournemouth release statement:

https://www.afcb.co.uk/news/archive/afc-bournemouth-midfielder-lee-tomlin-joins-bristol-city-permanently

I think it's great business shipping him to Cardiff although it guarantees them six points against us next season.  A relatively small price to pay for recovering our transfer fee and saving a big chunk of the wage bill.  And he will fall out with Neil Warnock.

Although I wouldn't criticise Tomlin for effort most of the time, his impact on winning results was negligible after that amazing loan spell.  He seemed frustrated throughout last season and gave the ball away in places where counter attacks could easily punish us.

Thanks for the good memories Lee, unfortunately there were too few for the talent you have.

On the basis that Tomlin tends to be a one season wonder, I would expect him to tear up the Championship next season and after that it will be whatever Colin can get out of him.

Probably why they wanted him on loan. Club done well getting rid
