A new railway station for Bristol

Tying in nicely with the P&Ride, offering the train and bus to ease the swarm? Perhaps this vision of the future will also tie in with the new motorway junction round Pucklechurch way that's being pushed.

Add in new fleet of better trains on the SB line - ok second hand 165 Turbos but a lot nicer/smoother units. If they'd have done the damned Henbury loop the line would become even more useful. Great to see it thriving after suggestions 15 years ago to scrap it.

Just imagine if they did the same on the other side of the river.. nice P&R by Portbury Docks..

Not so nice in the summer, 165's don't have aircon...

Actually think it's 166 on the SB line isn't it? They have ac?

What about the one in BS3?

Not until works happen at portishead and the line is reopen, and then it would be a number of years after those are completed

The whole Portishead line project is up in the air given the cost has ballooned to £175m

It's going to be cancelled I fear, the reason being not the price increase of the project but the ever increasing costs of the giant white elephant that is the metro project,

We are going to be paying for that lib dem vanity project for a very long time while our roads continues to get worse and investment in rail remains london centric
