'Orns
A G*s 'mate' of mine reckons we paid £2m to stop the Blue Few taking us to the FA about whether Taylor was tapped up I call massive BS, anyone know the truth? Like I told him, if they had the 6th richest owner in the country they wouldn't need the £2m and I'd take the hated, prettier, bigger, more successful 'lot up the road' to task over it. I did say that he could console himself that they've spent the £2.3m they've had from us wisely......

ZiderEyed
Okay sensible answer, of course not. It was public knowledge that he had a release clauses and it reeks of more bitterness from north of the river.

ColeCiderRed
what I find most shocking about this is Woodsy has a Gas mate. Unbelievable if true! An acquaintance I can accept, but a mate!!
Bristol Rob
Hahaha no chance. Not least because the 300k release clause had been on Gaschat for months before we went near him.
Guest
Sounds totally legal and above board. More gas nonsense.
wendyredredrobin
Presumably this £2m is going to show up in their accounts then. When are they published?

wendyredredrobin
The think i love most about gas mates is the rubbish they come out with to try to convince themselves that they are the best team in Bristol.

wendyredredrobin
Something you can be sure of is that money is laundered in and out of football clubs through foreign bank accounts and investments using a technique known as layering. Suitcases and brown envelopes stuffed with cash have been heard of too.

steviestevieneville
Absolute made up bollocks by the blue few AGAIN. It was well known he had a release clause of £300,000 . As if SL would pay that he'd just say . Get back on yer camel and **** off

Kid in the Riot
What I heard is that we'd actually made a bid of £300k for Taylor a week earlier but Rovers turned it down! We then had to get the lawyers involved and politely point the clause out to them. Knowing the kind of bitterness and inferiority complex their club has had for years, I would suggest this is a far more believable set of events that the OP! Red Army 75
Even wally was tweeting (attention seeking again) about the 300k . I'm calling bullshit . They have to tell themselves it's true. Because they haven't got **** all .

RumRed
Still don't get the 'gentleman's agreement' though, very odd and not sure if legal? The £300k was posted on Gaschat when he signed his contract with them though so this £2m stuff is obvious BS.

Nibor
Complete bollards of course. What does he think agents do exactly? The hilarious thing is they did "take us to the FA" and were laughed out of the room. The gentleman's agreement not to sign their players was just acknowledging that they have none worth signing and are a right bunch of fueless cluckwits to do business with.
