How important ...

... was Bobbys last gasp equalizer against Brentford?

By all accounts completely outplayed and on the cusp of 2 straight league defeats. Think that was the catalyst for the team's belief that they can get something out of any game even if they're not playing well.

We could have had a very different start to the season had we lost that game.

Well it’s the sign of any good team, to be able to pick up point(s) when not particularly playing well & to be able to bounce back from a defeat without it snowballing into a run of defeats (as we are only too aware after last season).

And having 16+ players, who all want to fight & win for each other & show the right attitude instead of having a couple of players who showed very little desire for the fight (as was apparent last season) makes a huge difference.

Attitude is a huge part of football along with confidence but you have to have the desire to succeed & for the fight, which as things stand, we seem to have it by the bucket load this season. And it also shows just how damaging one or two bad apples can be amongst a squad.

It doesn't seem to a problem for Cardiff though. Can't help feeling that it is a bit unfair to pin all the blame for last season on Tomlin. Typical otib simplification and scapegoating.

You could well be right. Was at Brentford that night and we were completely outplayed, outclassed and overun all night but defended fantastically and just refused to be beaten and broke their hearts with the last kick of the game. I remember their manager saying afterwards it was the most one sided Championship game he'd ever been involved with but just look where the two teams are now. Funny old game.

Ask any big CB what they hate playing against and they`ll always tell you it`s quick, nippy players with good close control.

I don’t totally subscribe to that.  Sometimes as a big CB, you can intimidate those little’uns Into being ineffective.  Watch Baker and Wright do that.  Flint is far less physical on the deck, which is why he always looks less comfy against those types.
