Song for Bobby Reid.

Recommended Posts

I’m sure everyone would agree Bobby is on fire, had a thought for a song.

One for the teenagers, check out “Viva Bobby Joe”,by the Equals, from way back in 1967,good catchy tune, sure some bright spark can make something out of it.

Would be the perfect song to be fair!

something like:

Bobby Reid, (or we've got) viva, Bobby Reid
Bobby Reid, viva, Bobby Reid
Viva, viva
Viva, Bobby Reid, viva

Bobby Reid our goal scoring machine, yeah, yeah
Everybody's gonna see a sensation, a sensation
A sensation, hear what I say now

*repeat*

Any song has to be a tune people would know well or changing a current chant to fit his name in I would have thought.

At least 80s onwards surely? Just pick a well know tune and add some words

Example ;- Wham party :-

Wham Bam - Bobby passed to Fam

Job for our Cotts, I can tell you that it’s not!

Le-ko control what you do, if not; just stop and Bobby will take the shot.

Could go 70s at a push with a bit of ABBA :-

Flowing pass, flowing move - ahaaaa

there is nothing Reid can’t do - flowing pass, flowing move - ahaaaa

he is going to beat you this time yes it’s true - losing bad is never easy I know but Bobby will beat you.

Etc !!

Pinball wizard, something like (may need some work but I'm a fan of this...)

Ever since I was a young boy
I've watched us pass the ball
At home or away at Rovers
I've seen us beat them all
But I ain't seen nothing like him
In any game at all
Our goal scoring maestro
Give Bobby Reid the ball!!

Surely something much more modern for the young guys on the pitch. I'll post this but it isn't perfect as I'm just led in bed thinking about football songs now.

How about to the tune of Ignition(Remix) by R. Kelly

Bobby Reid's on the pitch and

You'd better be listenin

He twists and turns his body got defenders missin

he does what he wants

so what he's young

its the freakin weekend he score goals for fun

I'll leave now..

He's here, he's there, he's every flipping where Bobby Reid, Bobby Reid...........

I just made that up..........

Yea but that's Korey's song. Think there is an unwritten rule you can't sing the same song about players on the same team.

The first time I heard that was for Gerry Gow.

i don't remember ever singing it for any other player since.

One of the funniest moments ever at the Gate was when there was a clampdown on foul language.

We all sang

" He's here , he's there ,

we're not allowed to swear ,

Gerry Gow , Gerry Gow . "

Pretty sure in my earliest City supporting days I first heard that song for Gordon Parr.

I remember that. I got a gloved hand on my shoulder after I'd made a obscene gesture at the away fans and a gruff voice said "do that again sonny and you'll be out on yer ear "

If things are getting a bit overheated during the match, 18000 fans launching into a beautiful rendition of a song for Bobby to the tune of Edelweiss would no only sound gorgeous but also help to calm things down:

Bobby Reid.....

Bobby Reid......

Every matchday you greet me
Red and white, Day and night
You look happy at City
Scoring a goal
May you bloom and grow
Bloom and grow forever...

Imagine that eh? All those voices in perfect harmony.

Had this stuck in my head all day ! We need a few original songs, see some decent suggestions but we seem to play it safe with the generic chants which is a shame! Celtic are constantly trying new songs

I genuinely think that is a top idea for a chant, see if you can get it going. Everyone knows Pinball Wizard.

I have checked thoroughly through the "Anthology of Forum Football Chants" and determined the deceit in your post as the word "flipping" has never been used in any football chant, ever. Charlatan.
