The Saturday Boy
For those of us of a certain age, it has to be The Saturday Boy by Billy Bragg. Tales of unrequited love, "she never came to the phone, she was aalways in the bath" and "in the end it took a dictionary to find out the meaning of unrequited"' Wonderful lyricist :-)

BRISTOL86
This song - well in particular, this version of this song and the monster outro solo - will always be my favourite song in the world. It's the song that inspired me to pick up a guitar, and for that i'll be forever grateful, as it's become the single biggest passion in my life (just don't ask me to choose between giving up the guitar and giving up City!) Best song ever written? No, but definitely the most important and defining song to me.
