The Official Bristol City v Burton Albion Match Day Thread 12

Recommended Posts

Burton and the referee are all spoilers, however we ran out of ideas after 6 minutes. The only time we switched back on was for the disallowed goal. A night of terrible crosses not beating the first man, too many flicks when we should put a foot on it, too many attempts at threaded through-balls when Burton have 8 men in the way, too many people standing still when we have the ball. Far too clueless throughout, no energy. The only players to come out of this with a decent match rating would be Flint and Baker as they have won everything in the air. Pack, Brownhill, Elliason, Paterson have all been bang average or worse.

Woodrow anonymous again and putting Reid in midfield has made him the old Bobby

Very odd to take your top scorer out of the attack certainly.

Rather wish Burton go down now after what I wrote about them in my intro; their very unsportsmanlike tactics have gone unpunished by this hopeless ref.

Really poor quality football this evening. Passing, particularly in final 3rd, not championship standard.

Even the best teams have the odd day off.......still unbeaten in god knows how many and up to 3rd in the table

Let's not get too upset. Still think we'll end up 12th-14th. Results like this will happen again.

Grrrr...anyway its a point (after a moment of clarity). Were not going to get dragged down again like 12mt ago. But...and BIG but... lets hope this is complacency creeping and thats it. Looking like a higher finish this year that will do me.

We just need to put this one to bed and move on. It's a funny old league, and the league leaders (Cardiff) have just lost 1-0 whilst looking absolute dog sh***.

Onwards and upwards.

Burton completely sat behind the ball and played for a draw. Sometimes you need a bit of luck or a deflection to get a clear cut chance, much like Bobby's disallowed goal and we didn't have one today. There will be days like this but at least we are still unbeaten. Onwards and upwards!

One of those games - it happens. Doesn't mean we have bad players or incompetent management or coaches. Another clean sheet and we move on to the next.

0-0 FT... sooo frustrating. Ref did not help, but we contributed to our own downfall by not getting the ball in behind from wide positions. Elliasson awful, Leko better, Pato quiet. Think COD should have come on for Pato and Reid left up front, he looked lost dropped back in midfield and Woodrow hardly touched it.

Bloody frustrating that.

Burton did exactly what everybody expected them to do, and after the first 15 minutes we ran out of ideas. 75% possession in the second half and really created next to zero. Very disappointing to be honest. Ho hum.

Bad international break for the Welsh, so there is that.

Two points dropped: what a pity!

Our first half performance was ok,but in the second half we really lacked quality: Burton's good defending and the referee made the rest.

Not there for personal reasons ( glad my ticket got used!) so, disappointing- yes BUT, this was the banana skin match compared to Cardiff last year and we are still unbeaten ( apart from Brum), 3rd in league & I get a perverse pleasure from seeing Tomlin sat on the bench for Cardiff!

Without doubt the worst set of officials I have ever seen!

This needs to be raised....didn't book time wasting.

Moved our balls back but not theirs

Our players have been kicked all over the park....theirs tripped on daisies...

Professionals?.....Burton are a disgrace to the term.

Shocking.

Game plan totally wrong. Why oh why you play Eliasson against someone as experienced & hard tackling Warnock, to try and get balls in the box to our lone striker against a back 4 who were all 6 foot + is beyond me.

That said, worst officiating I have ever seen at a game. Genuinely embarrasssd for him.

Correct, but it doesn't matter if your 4th in the league or rock bottom you have to beat teams like this at home

A clear total tit. They are getting more and more common. Listen you corps at FA.

While I'm disappointed we couldn't break them down and have no idea what was wrong with Bobbys goal, I would be quite happy to see Burton relegated after that anti football performance. They just didn't want to play at all.

Maybe we should take it as a compliment.

True - but tonights result isnt as bad as it could have been or the end of our season either, so we move on (plus I was hoping my words might go some way to appeasing any Otib rage. To late for some in Sweden though!

Burton did well . Scrapping, ugly but efficient.

Job done for them .

We missed a bit of quality in the final third .

Fammy didn't have a lot of joy and was constantly fouled.

Not a very joined up performance.

We never looked in danger.

Ref absolutely terrible.

On to the next ,bad day at the office .
