The Sniper

The police have neither confirmed or denied that the the players of Burton Albion FC were informed before last nights game that there was a sniper in the crowd and were to take evasive action if they thought neccesary .

One source has said that the players were given the advice that if they were concerned at any noise or even an opposition player coming near them noisily that they were to throw themselves to the ground prostrate and stay there for as long as possible until the coast was clear, the source said they had followed the advice to the letter and on at least 14 occasions had managed to do this.

It was added that that although it seemed to the 18000 people in the ground that no one had been near them or touched them when they threw themselves to the ground that the referee at the game was fully briefed and took no action , which may have been the case normally, he was also told to get the players off the pitch as soon as possible , so had only added five minutes to the whole game when officials admitted it should have been twelve.

Shocking in my view, the ref could've shortened it to 4 mins added time all game for the safety of Burton Albion dont you think? Disgraceful behaviour putting them in danger for a full extra minute!! That sniper could've fully well gotten them in that added minute too! - James Linington should be sacked for such reckless behaviour.
