Seriously .... every fan at Sunderland tomorrow should be given a voucher entitling them to a ticket for the Manure game ... reward loyalty.

Including Sunderland fans? Dont agree with that, thats 500 city fans who'll miss out if thats the case.....

So nothing to help me in Sunderland then, ah well enjoy your drink and think of us up North :-)

Depends what you like? Sunderland is very much orientated around real ale pubs such as The Peacock, Fitzgeralds, The Isis, Dun Cow etc and places that do gins, cocktails etc like Revolution, Libby Mays, Poetic License (Seafront tho) and Sams Bar . There's also places like The Rabbit and No2 Church Lane that specialise in food and drink.

There's not really any themed bars like what Sam Jacks was other than the usual sports bars/pubs.

The Albion is apparently popular with away fans.

It was demolished years ago mate. Try the Colliery Tavern. For those getting the Metro over from Newcastle it's a short walk from the Stadium of Light Metro station and it's the nearest pub to the away end (other than the bar at the Hilton hotel). It's very away fan friendly and has a beer tent and beer van outside to cater for the numbers. There's also a decent burger van for scran. Don't act like bellends though, the 'Taverners' don't suffer fools gladly!
