kanemochi
As per the title, Lando Norris has been promoted to test & reserve driver at McLaren for next season. Means we could veey well see him racing along side the likes of Hamilton & Vettel if Alonso or Vandoorne miss any races. Great bit of news; local lad, part of the Bristol Sport umbrella and only 17. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/41888988
Selred
What does this mean for Bristol Sport? Will he still be sponsored by them? Great news for the lad
kanemochi
Surprisingly there's nothing on the Bristol Sport website about this yet but would be interesting to know if there will still be any ties to BS. Either way, it's great that Button is being replaced by another so close to here.
Admin phantom Posted November 7, 2017 Admin Report Share Posted November 7, 2017 Does this actually improve his chances of moving up in racing terms? Just wondering where the better opportunities would lie, being a test driver or winning a major series?

He's likely to be competing in the Formula 2 series next year so this will be a natural progression after winning the Formula 3 European championship this year. Ahh, didn't realise he would do both - great news for him (Wondered if it was like signing for Chelsea and never playing for the first team or say for a top Championship club and be a first choice)

There was also the mooted possibility he might race in Japan's SuperFormula instead of F2 but I'd say F2 is likely to be the preferred option.
