spyder66
18/9/79 - Away at Partick Thistle, Anglo Scottish Cup, quarter final 1st leg. Can anyone tell me if a programme exists for this match? I haven't come across a copy in the last two years, and I don't see mention of one on this web page. http://partickthistleahistory.wikifoundry-mobile.com/page/1979+v+Bristol+City+(H) The return 2nd leg can be found here... http://partickthistleahistory.wikifoundry-mobile.com/page/v+Bristol+City+(A)+ASC+1979

Back when I was trying to complete my collection I wrote to them asking about it and they replied saying no programme was ever issued for the game. I`ve still got the letter somewhere. 22A
I attended the home leg. Two dozen Partick fans flew down for the game which City won 2-0. It was embarrassing though. At one stage all you could hear was "Bristol, Bristol give us a song".
BS4 on Tour...
And one Thistle fan I know cane down for the game, saw Bristol, and never went back! I’ve got the programme for the home game...if you peep at my avatar image, split loyalties! Long story, but I was very much a City fan that day... BS4 on Tour...
.....and talking of Partick Thistle, when I spent an incredible lunchtime in a pub in Portland with my hero Gerry Gow, he got very emotional when he talked of his one Scotland U23 cap - the game was played at Firhill and he said he saw his Dad in tears in the Stand when he walked out wearing a Scotland shirt....he got very misty eyed when he told me that his Dad was buried wearing Gerry’s one and only Scotland shirt....
