Top Mangers ?

Recommended Posts

Klopp started without his 2 most creative strikers, Courtinho and Firmino  in yesterday's Derby with Everton . Not surprisingly they created little and failed to beat an poor Everton team . Brought these players on far too late to change the result.

Mourinho had everybody back in their penalty area defending set pieces allowing Man City to push everybody forward . Lukaku made two major errors in his own box gifting City 2 goals. Why not get Lukaku to stay up top on the half way line , making City leave at least 2 men back marking the fast break and allowing his defenders to deal with fewer City players in the box. Hope he continues with this tactic at the Gate allowing all our big guys to get in the box and cause mayhem.

If our own LJ had made these kind of decisions we would rightly be all over OTIB questioning his decision making.

Yeah, they say the boss of Bethlehem Trinity had an almost supernatural insight. Can’t see it myself. Talked a good game.

managers can't account for a players mistake,

Clubs like man u aren't 1 or 2 man teams ether,

These sort of things happen to every club up and down the country, it's just one of those things

Wow... a bit of perspective: Liverpool are unbeaten in 10 and Mourinho lost his first home game in 40 attempts.

Obviously this is right, but I think managers can and do set up their teams to minimize the impact of individual errors. To the OP’s point, that might have been  achieved by leaving Lukaku up front.

You often see teams bring their aerial presence upfront back to defend corners, can't count the numerous times we've done it for example. So Lukaku in the box isn't surprising, you'd be looking at Rashford and Martial being the ones out of the box anyway to try and catch City short at the back with their pace.

I thought Liverpool were all over Everton from about the 30 minute mark. It wasn’t creativity that was the problem, but finishing and resolute defending....and a big missed header from Salah.

Some mangers are complete Donkeys like our Darrell. A good manger has to be like a Shepherd, guiding his players to a stable position in the table. Unfortunately many mangers are not that wise and are left grasping at straw(s) when the transfer gold runs out. Unless you have players like Frank(incense) Lampard or Lionel Myrrh(si) though, this will often be a problem and it isn't always the mangers fault.
