That was the 6-1 game with the three pigs wasn’t it?

My first year as a season ticket holder, and I was in the bogs when the pigs fought Wolfie and missed it all! :(

No I thing it was the away game?

Defo the 3-0 away game.

That Sky game a few years back where we went 2-0 down and got it back to 2-2 that was played in a biblical rainstorm with howling gales. It would never have been on if it hadn`t been on Sky and their studio nearly went a couple of times.

Absolute screamer from Nicky Maynard from wide left in front of the EE for one of ours

Nicky Maynard was a tap in set up by adebola if you are thinking of the 2-2 game was no way a screamer

Remember being 4-0 down at halftime against them under McInnes. I think Kevin Doyle scored after a run from the halfway line that met virtually no resistance. Dark dark days, so glad they are long gone.

not that long gone! this time last year we were ready to put a certain someone's head on a spike!

Dele Adebola coming off the bench in 08/09 and tearing them apart in the rain at Ashton Gate. Came on at HT, scored just after their second and set up Nicky Maynard for a late equaliser. What a second half.

Weirdly that fairly innocuous game has always stayed with me. Remember it very well. What an impact from Adebola.

Away a few seasons ago. Ended 1-1. Pre game we couldn’t get into any local boozers. Ended up in Yates’ sat chatting to two Wolves old boys in their late 70s talking about following their team through the war years and European football. Absolutely priceless and everything that football is about. They even escorted us through the subway to the ground!

Yep, it was the away game. One of my worst moments watching City (see other thread).

Not many happy memories of games against Wolves. That comeback in the rain and wind was pretty good. I also remember beating them 3-0 at Ashton Gate in the mid-1980s.

I still hate David bloody Kelly. Steve Bull used to enjoy playing against us as well.

Night game in 1978 sticks out for me as it was my first night game.

Steve Daley? scored in the 90th minute for the inevitable Wolves win.

The Adebola game in the rain is probably the worst conditions I have ever witnessed football being played in- poor Basso could barely clear his own penalty box on his goal kicks.

Oh yeah and ******* David Kelly and Steve Bull

My first visit to Moulineux was the late 80s and they were unbeaten at home for over a year. Stood on that old South Bank with thousands of Gas (and plenty locked out:)) and a 1-0 win courtesy of Dennis Bailey :)

Surely you haven't played Wolves that often? :)

It's not a good memory but the 6-1 loss under Benny- his first home game, his first actual game was the 5-0 loss at Bradford.

Anyway, the reason it's a significant landmark for me is that it was my first ever City game...I knew it wouldn't be dull following this club- we even scored first from memory??

you're totally right that they scored first, I'd completely forgotten that - just dug this up as some happy reading :/

Carl Hutchings - I`d almost forgotten him. I`d forgotten Keith Curle played for Wolves that day too.

Apart from the aforementioned Mr. H that wasn`t a bad side we had out there either.

just looked at the team now you mentioned: wow, yeah, man for man there's some proper talent in there that I'd happily have knocking around our squad even now - with the exception of Torpey!  was an odd season all round though, and despite the numerous downers and tonkings we played some decent football at times and came so close to turning it round (the last minute easter win at pompey was one of my favourite days down south!). I always felt that as a club we didn't quite give Benny the backing he should have had, but i guess that's a discussion for another time!
