Engvall to Plymouth?

Bristol City may now be loaning out Gustav Engvall, who was unable to impress after his visit to Djurgården. Now, Football Director can reveal that English Plymouth shows interest.

Gustav Engvall does not get it in England.
It was sluggish before he went to Djurgården in two rounds and it has not looked better since he returned in November.

He excluded himself closest to the possibilities when he left Djurgården - the opportunity to be sold to Stockholm because of the high price tag he is wearing. Bristol is told to have about one million pounds for a player who costed nearly 2.5.

Today, FootballDirect can reveal a first club name that can now be an option for the 23-year-old. According to data from the FD, the League One club Plymouth has now emerged. It's about a mid club but still close to playoffs.

Negotiations should not be commenced, but Bristol and Gustav are told look at alternatives, where Plymouth may be one.
If this is the case, it will be a similar solution to Marcus Antonsson who left Leeds on loan for Blackburn and gained his career - Rovers, who is the top team in the same series as Plymouth.

Manager Lee Johnson recently commented on Engvall's name like this in a television broadcast and the fact that the former Dif star actually had been hurt for a while and was not available at Ashton Gate:
"We hope it's not too serious we'll see. With "Gus", it has been a well-documented story, ever since he came here. There are opportunities for "Gus", he has to step up, as all players need, "he says at a press conference before the weekend's match and resonates:
" He definitely has qualities: Championship Qualities and Premier League qualities. He's moving, he can finish. It is up to himself.

But Lee Johnson is also critical and wants to see a better attitude from Swedish.
Even though Engvall returned as a top name from the All-American shooter, it is not enough for the manager. Eight goals of 24 matches are not by default any hard currency:

"He must also step up, physically and to the pace of the Championship. He has to go up and down for a place. And that's the key to all players, like Bobby Reid, we've seen Bobby Reid get the opportunity and how he received it with open arms. So the possibilities will be there for 99 percent of the players we have, whether it's players from the academy or players we sign. And it's important that they take the chances when they arrive.

You have to think the club has someone else lined up then

Although we have Famara coming back from injury he will be weeks away from match fit

Leaving Reid Taylor Woodrow

Thats hardly inspiring going into the final quarter of the season

Milan is miles away

Famara is back training and could be ready to start tomorrow or at least on the bench.

There are 19 games to go so not exactly the 'final quarter'

Milan is indeed miles away - he's in Italy

Good move if correct. He needs regular minutes in England, and if the management don't think he's ready for us still, then a move lower down will do him good.

I would say that if he's still not ready for us by this time next year, then a permanent move away will probably be next.

Plymouth has been good to us with regards to getting players up to speed. Let's hope it continues.

And with Zac down there too at least there will be a familiar face in the dressing room.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a bit of internet/twitter chat taking 2+2 and getting 5.

Derek Adams came out and said he was waiting for a Bristol city player on loan - who surely was Vyner, as we now know?

It was a bit of Internet guess work that put Engvall’s name with that initial comment, so maybe the story has come out of that speculation. Unless Plymouth want both!

A loan move for him would be good though having said all that.
