Ah yes, saw their farewell tour at the Bierkeller too, saw them on the Thekla a few years back, still a good night out.

Loads of good stuff coming up there. A quick Google comes up with a few alternative names for Odyssey.... Top Rank, Baileys, Romeo & Juliets, Papillons, Odyssey, The Works. I think I saw the Selecter there too , not sure what name it was under then.

Only saw them the once, in Manchester, guessing around 1987-8: not wholly my cup of tea, but a good gig nonetheless.

I was wondering which venue it was: am of an age to know it only as Romeo & Juliet's or R&J's.

I saw what I recall was touted as the The Cure's farewell tour in 1989: since then I have refused to believe artists when they say there are packing it in. I blame Frank Sinatra, did about 25 come back tours To be fair, I saw the Jam's farewell tour and they show no signs of coming back !!
harry may
Seen some great bands there over the years - Dr Feelgood probably the stand out. However it was / is my least favorite venue. I much prefer The Fleece.
