Norn Iron
But was Brian's left foot as good as Sir Alan Walsh's? Brian was a great player for us and deserves the job he has now. However, I think Alan was slightly better at crossing/shooting especially as Walshy played for BCFC when we were really struggling on and off the pitch. It's been discussed before but worth mentioning again just how devious Terry Cooper was in getting Alan here via the transfer tribunal. Darlington wanted 100k which was a fair assessment of his value. We eventually paid 20k for him. The buy of the century? Certainly the buy of the decade. Alan gave us the Walshy shuffle. Brian gave us that Anfield moment. Both were committed players. Both showed class and vision on and off the ball. In a vote-off though, Alan Walsh gets my vote. Ps Happy Birthday Brian. wendyredredrobin
Happy birthday Tins. I shall never forget that goal at Anfield and hundreds of pinpoint long balls over the years as well as some decent tackles. A true BCFC legend.
