The amount of negativity I have been hearing in the stands, on the radio, in the pubs and on this very Internet forum is startling. Every misplaced pass is greeted by a collective groan, every poor first touch is followed by cries of "Get him (your son) off Johnson!", and every player we try to sign is apparently rubbish without even kicking a ball for this football club.
Of course, there is a big difference between being a moaner and being a realistic, or perhaps more accurately, a constructive critic. After all, for every positive offered by a goal we score, there is a negative in every one we concede (apparently it was Lee Johnson's fault). A good case in point was the game on Saturday. Whilst it was a superb game of football, and we really played some very good football in patches, it still highlighted which positions we are sadly lacking in, and which players would in all likelihood be badly exposed should we be promoted to the Championship.
However, it's those that fail to see the positives that irk me slightly. Those who phone in to the radio to talk about the mistake's we've made before even considering what we did well. Those that single out certain players and spend the entire game waiting for them to slip up and make a mistake, whilst being completely ignorant to every piece of quality they produce. Those who just don't believe in our club, our board, our manager, or our players.
Well, we're now just over half way through the season. We're 4th in the league, still in 2 cup competitions and have a lot of football to play, and an awful lot to play for. With this in mind, us at 'Campaign Believe' figure it's time we began to get behind this team with 100% positive support. That doesn't mean you have to be happy clappy... oh no, you can be 100% supportive and still tell us all why we're only 4th and not 1st. But we have a massive few of months ahead of us, and we all need to play a part in helping this team take us to where we all want to be.
