  1. That is mostly true, there were singers outside still coming in and they wouldn't have known about the silence but there was, sadly, one solitary drunk **** (and all clubs have them) inside that shouted for all of a second before being universally shut down by all around him.
  2. Ah ok, fair enough I misinterpreted so my apologies.
  3. And in over 500 posts on here I'm yet to resort to personal abuse. Go figure ..
  4. Ah now if that was true I would have been here having a field day for the last few months - as it is I haven't mentioned anyone's current performance! I'm saving that up for IF you do go down, it's way too premature to celebrate anything yet! (and yes, get those Wycombe quips in quickly .. :))
  5. Ah, is this a 'our hooligans are harder than your hooligans' post! I always love those!
  6. Hello my friends, gosh what a lot of palaver yesterday hey? Disappointed to lose our top goalscorer obviously, but once there's a wantaway player in the dressing room it soon becomes septic so the sooner they're gone and not poisoning the atmosphere the better. Our relative success in the last 2 and a half seasons has been down, largely, to a unified dressing room so it's best that any one no longer wanting to be part of that are removed. Great deal for you, can't deny that, and it won't be easy to replace a 25+ a year goalscorer as they don't grow on trees so a big loss for the Gas. But promotion would always be a step too far this season (can't see anything other than immediate relegation if we were to go up, I mean look how such a massive club as City are currently coping ;)) and his goals have made us (relatively) safe for the rest of this season (9, possibly 10 more points needed?). So enjoy this one ladies and gentlemen, but all teams have their ups and downs. After a couple of years of ups, yesterday was a down. Must win for you lot on Saturday now mind you, followed by 4 very tough away games on the spin after Fulham home was postponed due to (their) participation in the FA Cup. Unless you have a step change in your form and win a couple of those you could find yourselves adrift in the relegation zone at the end of the month! Toodleoo and have a good afternoon chums! Speak soon xxx
  7. Bert, remember, is a true-blue die-hard lifelong Gashead apparently. Nudge nudge, wink wink ..
  8. I know - it's this inferiority complex I have whenever I come on here
  9. If I was, I guess I'm in the wrong place to find any, yes?
  10. The new regime have been in place since the end of February. Just over half a year. What did you expect? The UWE, a brand new Training complex and Champions league football to be delivered in that time? The old board were woeful. The new one has started well but still has a lot to prove. For now they surely have benefit of the doubt - the clock is ticking and yes, material things will need to start to come together and be delivered over the coming 12 months but blimey, give them a chance ..
  11. So as I see it, you're all in agreement: Rovers are clueless, tinpot, the owner is an unprofessional buffoon stringing the fans along and hasn't got 2 brass farthings to rub together, there's never going to be a new stadium or training complex, the fans are all muppets, forever in your shadow, no longer rivals, you don't even care about them any more... I think we get the point. It's preaching to the converted isn't it? I mean, you all think it, and you all know it to be true. Yet you all still have to keep saying it over and over and reaffirming it to yourselves every day. Why? Things are going well for City right now, Europa League on the near horizon according to your manager, if we're no longer rivals why not just take a chill pill and not get yourselves into such a lather every day? Why the obsession? Really, why? We are nothing to you. Move on. Have a good weekend all! And I'll see any Rovers fans that use the forum (both long standing and newbies? at the Mem tomorrow? Take care everyone, enjoy the weekend :-)
  12. Hey I only offered to buy him a drink! No grooming and whatever happens later would be privately agreed between two consenting adults!
  13. Yep. Sadly true. And sadly somehow some of the 'Gas Girls' from the admittedly woeful 'Rovers Appreciation Page' on Facebook made the panel. Now I don't want to sound snobby but these 'girls' do come over as a bit rough and chavvy at the best of times so I'm surprised they were chosen and made the cut to the panel. They spend most of their time online talking about penis size and the players they fancy grim. Anyway - positive news - talks are advanced on the new training ground site, 29 acres, hoping to start a move in March. Will aim to be a Cat 2 Academy - woohoo
  14. Well - no. Although he did say the UWE is the only site they're looking at, and funding isn't a problem. But then said a team of accountants are currently reviewing feasibility and lots of discussions with other parties need to conclude. So nobody any the wiser really. Oh and just about the worst fans panel they could pull together - cringeworthy even if I say so myself.
  15. look Bert has said he's a true blue, you all say he's a Rovers supporter, so obviously he is. And as such, it's nice to put a face to an Internet name especially if it's a fellow fan. After all there's so few of us ("the blue few"). So I can understand if Bert doesn't want a friendly pint etc (I'm sure he attends with his own social group and as such doesn't feel the need to share a pint with another supporter) but my offer is there to shake his hand at any game we are both at - I get to about 70 or 80% of home games these days due to work and family constraints and it would be nice to put a face to the name of a fellow fan!
