  2. Anyway, back to Mebude….
  3. Big Tone started it, he showing off that he's worked with the Hollywood elite and had a "dalliance" with Cate Blanchett
  4. I really think he has talent, but whether bad attitude , laziness or just a bit of a Billy Big Suds he does seem to have to move on a lot. You kind of hope that one time would be a wake up call and he'd make the most of his talent. Maybe next time.
  5. Yeh, someone else spotted it, i am easily confused
  6. Bath City playoff eliminator with Braintree is live tonight on National League TV 7.45
  7. As you say, it is a lottery and for all the guidelines, the officials often interpret stuff so differently. The offside situation is getting silly now though, with the matter of millimetres being measured. It's like those songs about 'Aguerro, your teeth are offside', or 'Ozil, your eyes are offside'! Joking aside, nobody gains an advantage with a couple of mm, so should it really come down to such small fractions? One of the better suggestions I've heard is to say there needs to be clear daylight between the last defender and the attacker, maybe measured at the waist, being the centre of the body. Ok, that certainly gives the advantage to the attacking team, but the defending team may be less likely to be constantly playing the offside trap, because if they judge it wrong, that really hands a significant advantage to the attacking team. We already see advantages given to keepers in any body contact at present, so giving advantages in the game aren't unprecedented. Don't know how difficult that type of offside decision would be for a lino to judge, but it must already be difficult enough to judge these fractions at present. The problem with VAR is, it seems to be the first point of reference, rather than leaving it to the officials to make a judgement first and leave it to them to ask for VAR if they aren't certain. It just feels like VAR is becoming a massive hindrance to football at present and arguably, causes more controversy than before it existed.
  8. I sympathise, Sleepy! It was evidently there, as @Silvio Dante’s link shows…..but I looked and didn’t see it yesterday either. It would be good to have a proper fixture list somewhere. A friend confirmed it, so I was able to make it, and I enjoyed it. I saw the Sheff Weds game a couple of weeks ago and left feeling that there was no-one going to get anywhere near the first team squad. I left feeling a bit more positive today. There were some good performances.

  10. Yet Duff, Johnson and Warnock were mentioned previously in the thread but you chose to react to Pearson Right...... I'm off
  11. Wow!....................Just Wow!
  12. Good luck Mr. Gorsky - Sleeper Bit contrived but I love this song!!
  13. It is. I find Wilkins an absolute moron both on Radio Bristol and Twitter when it comes to his knowledge/views of football, but I would never knock his podcast considering the subject and the likely challenges he’s gone through and continues to go through. I see Tinnion being on that more in the community sphere and it might be an interesting listen if they touch on the footballing drinking culture that was prevalent when Tinnion was a player.
  14. Happy St George's day to all.
  15. Salutary. Where will we be in another twelve months' time, I wonder? Also interesting to see the many faces in that shot that are not here now.
  16. Yes true and it works well but you know what clubs are like . They will want more and get in a strop if an “obvious error” in their eyes is missed because they have no appeals left . Could we use a “umpires call “ type system where his decision is final but the team don’t lose a review for subjective decisions?

  18. Well, that is a bit like football. No matter how talented the player is though, goals only ever come from defensive mistakes (not necessarily mistakes made by defenders). A high-tempo game in both sports is more likely to produce those mistakes and be more attractive to the spectators.
  19. Just announced Chris Billam-Smith to have a rematch against Richard Riakporhe on June 15th at Selhurst Park, to be shown on Sky
  20. No I wasn't criticising you. I was apologising doubly. It's a cold brittle word, but sometimes it's actually better to use the language that the industry uses. We all know that no one is belittling the death off Mr. Sala (not this side of the Severn anyway).
  21. I’ll set ‘em up, you knock ‘em down….
  22. He did, after reffing the World Cup final, he said the online abuse was too much He's now a full time lawyer in London
  23. As a generalisation, Rick, every kind of competitive game that a child plays puts them in the shop window for (especially) local football club scouts who are looking for recruits to their Academies. I may be wrong but i believe that children can, and do, play in the JPL on a Saturday and then their Club team on a Sunday.
  24. The National League joined the Premier League last night in expressing concerns over the introduction of a football regulator. The Football Governance Bill will be debated in the House of Commons today as it receives its Second Reading.
  25. Worse than that, it says he’s methods are ‘very unique’. Things are either unique or they aren’t. They can’t be very unique. The club should be very wary!
