  2. Rovers are in League 2, 4th tier of English football. Leek town are in Northern Premier League Division One South East 8th tier of English football. Leek's ground holds 3,600 with625 of them seated, but look below at the condition of the stadium and it's pitch. Rovers; this shows how poor you are.
  3. This underlines my point that Cotts WAS financially backed - the money was there. Pelling screwed it up - not Lansdown, on that occasion (unless Pelling was acting under orders from SL of course) My ‘unrealistic’ comment was misplaced. I probably should have said ‘unbelievable’ because in my own eyes they were, unbelievable. What I meant was that if any single one of those bids had gone through it would have been the biggest transfer fee ever paid by Bristol City - even now I don’t think we’ve paid that much in transfer fee for a player (someone may be able to tell me differently) - and we went for 3 of them all similarly priced. That’s in excess of £30m in transfer fees, plus add-ons and wages - that would put LJ/Ashton to shame!!! Goodness knows what FFP would have said about that! Thats quite considerable backing in my opinion.
  4. It's only Tuesday and they're already discussing this Saturday's game; https://forum.pinkun.com/index.php?/topic/156283-bristol-city-saturday/ For possibly our biggest game of the season to date ( Ipswich aside ) I amazed at the number of tickets still available, just 4 days away, with plenty of doubles and the section next to the away area ( I assume has not been available to long ) almost totally available. Big game this one. Bristol are right near the top of the form table so we'll have to be at our best. Surprised it's not completely sold out. Regardless of the opposition, every game for us is massive from now on. It’s only recently been made available. Looks like Bristol will be bringing relatively few fans with them.
  5. I’ll try and listen back to that SOTC later. edit: bugger, they only stay on for 25 days. will check the thread
  6. Yes sometimes certain players just click with certain managers get a bit of confidence and start firing.

  9. It actually makes me feel the opposite it’s a bit like when I last when sofa shopping, everytime I walked in the shop I got harassed by the sales staff so I just left.
  10. Yeah that's basically a Firestick, Apple TV, Chromecast, etc. You plug them in and they give you access to all of your subscriptions, which you still have to pay for. They've been around for about 10 years by now I'd imagine. They're handy if you have an old TV with no apps on, or if you want IPTV or something.
  11. The mega grudge match between Inoue and Nery for The Monster's undisputed titles 12 days before Fury Usyk as well.
  12. https://www.90min.com/posts/what-are-ffp-rules-womens-football Article from June 2023; but hopefully still relevant How does FFP function in the women's game? There is a lot less financial regulation in the women's game in the United Kingdom and Europe right now and that has led to calls for changes to be made. In the Women's Super League, there is a salary cap which allows top flight sides to spend 40% of their turnover on wages. The issue with that is that those totals can be merged with the men's team within the same club, so the likes of Manchester United Women can spend 40% of a much larger pot of cash as the overall club of Man Utd generates so much money. Man Utd's head of group planning and finance that has been recently calling for more financial regulation in the UK women's game so that a small set of teams do not kill the competitiveness of the division. Speaking at the European Club Association's first women's football summit, Francesca Whitfield said: "Currently in the WSL we have a salary cap system which is 40% of revenue, but that includes parent club income, meaning the larger clubs naturally benefit from shirt deals on the men's side. "That's creating a gap that is affecting the product and this can't be something that we just address domestically, this has to be something we address on a European level to make sure the European tournaments are the best and we're at the forefront of that." In the Premier League right now, the rules allow for total losses over a three-year period of £105m. There are penalties in place for clubs that exceed that figure. Whitfield is aware that it is not as simple as copying the rules in the men's game as it is a different financial landscape. "We can't simply emulate or replicate what we did on the men's side, the game is in a different space and we need to ensure that we can invest but equally attract investment," said Whitfield. "Smaller clubs are not able to invest at that level, so how do we encourage them to do so if it's not a fair playing field and they can't possibly ever be competitive with how things currently are?" https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/womens-football-needs-ffp-rules-says-manchester-united-chief-j632d2sdf Another article from June 2023, which I can't read because of a paywall. But it's title & heading are Women’s football needs FFP rules, says Manchester United chief Present rules allow men’s clubs to transfer wealth to their women’s team, which it is feared will harm competitiveness
  13. I don't listen to Saturday matchdays much (if at all), but am aware that BBC Radio Bristol & BBC Radio Somerset combined have to cover a lot of various football & rugby teams that may play that day. And I believe one game may feature on both stations. Plus, there's one game covered on one frequency (DAB) for one station then another for the same station, but on a different frequency (AM/FM?)...
  14. Today
  15. There is not a chance Southgate is dropping Saka, which likely means Palmer on the bench. Bellingham at 10 is a shoo-in. Nice problems to have !
  16. We saw this in the EFL between 2018 to 2021. Albeit this was moreso Sale and Leaseback, the exception there being Reading when they outright sold their old Training Ground and land around the Stadium in a selling spree in 2017-18 and 2018-19. There may have been a transaction last year too but it didn't arise in time for the Business Plan and wasn't a Fixed Asset disposal but iirc Shares in a company that owned a Fixed Asset- that loophole has also been closed incidentally..their Accounts for last year they've somehow extended to the end of June deadline wise.
  17. And I have no issue with players receiving the best treatment in the most timely manner. But sadly players and clubs are abusing it
  18. About 850 city match tickets left for this game PLUS one empty away end
  19. Even the Wurzles can not tempt me to turn up for this game ,
  20. I was arguing with a guy in a pub. He said he was a big pop star in the 80s. I didn’t believe him, but he was adamant
  21. im only guessing N/O , no truth in my comment whatsoever that i know of but it wouldnt surprise me now we are taking the amateur route
  22. Silver Machine....Hawkwind
  23. We were advised by our ticketing provider that there needs to be the cut off. I think this is because potentially tickets transferred after this time will work as well as the forwarded ticket meaning potential double entry. Thanks Jerry
  24. For football we can only issue 3414 that's the capacity set by SAG (Safety Advisory Group) based on their annual inspection.
  25. Thanks for the message, no they aren't ordering physical season cards anymore I'm afraid.
