  2. I was looking this morning at seats in the Dolman. It's still obviously more than I would have paid for a South stand season ticket. What is going through my mind is the marketing spill of "only a limited number of sesson tickets on sale" "we don't want too many more season ticket holders" etc etc. So I'm sat here thinking I'd be annoyed if we did have success and then I was unable to buy a season ticket.
  3. And in that Championship game, Rotherham lost 5-0 at Norwich!
  4. Rotherham and Stoke are two favourable fixtures in our race for 11th I agree! Oh wait, wrong City...
  5. Allocation 2,201 with 720 remaining meaning we’ve sold just under 1,500 with a week to go would like to see this move to the 2k mark. Tickets are cheap £20 adults & £12 kids. Last day of season not a bad journey & Stoke could still need something froM the match. We have a good record there (famous last words). Get on it people. COYR.
  6. How have you done this, they are not on sale yet
  7. It’s called choosing your moment isn’t? LM is smart to know when he can use these comments or not. Nige used to also. On a good run, it’s exactly the time to push home what you want. Like you I think it’s the 9 and 10 in, and everything else is a reaction to outgoings. But the size of squad won’t be massive.
  8. Aldershot may have been giving players a go, that will actually be with them next season
  9. And the old Debenhams 1950's building has 4 floors albeit with very high ceiling height - unsuitable for direct conversion, energy costs etc, - the building would have to be stripped out to a shell, new layers of flooring, windows repositioned etc. The cost would be astronomical for a smaller return. Or an accountant either
  10. This seems dubious to me, surely the pitch would need to naturally fuse with the ground below it? TAKEN FROM: Men's T20 World Cup: Australian cricket pitches shipped to USA - BBC Sport The pitches used in the United States at this summer's men's T20 World Cup will have had quite the journey when the first ball is bowled at the tournament - being transported over 14,000 miles. They have come in by ship from Adelaide in Australia, via Florida, as organisers run a major global cricket tournament in the USA for the very first time. Matches will be played at bespoke venues in New York, Texas and Florida. The opening game between USA and Canada, and the biggest game of the group stages, India versus Pakistan, will both be played in the States. There are 16 matches being played in the US, with the other 39 being held in the West Indies. And getting the States ready for cricket is quite the undertaking, especially when it comes to preparing cricket pitches. "Our aim is to produce pitches that have pace and consistent bounce, on which the players can play their shots," said Adelaide Oval pitch curator Damian Hough, who has been tasked with growing pitches in Australia and transporting them to the US. "We want entertaining cricket, but there are challenges." Work on the 10 drop-in pitches started at the beginning of October 2023 when they were initially planted in trays. Each pitch was split into two trays, with the end aim being the production of four match-ready pitches and six practice strips. A clay-like soil, which is also used at baseball venues in the US, is being used together with a particular grass which is suited to warmer climates and resistant to rolling and heavy use. The trays were transported in a shipping container on a boat from Adelaide to Florida in January. They have since grown in a warm climate - New York was enduring freezing temperatures at the time - prior to being taken by road to their eventual destination. To limit the time they are on the back of a lorry, two drivers will be employed to drive each vehicle, limiting the need to stop for breaks. It will then take Hough and his team 12 hours to bed the pitch in at the venues, some of which are being purpose built for the tournament. "I have mixed feelings," said Hough, who is a guest on this week's Stumped podcast. "I'm really excited, but I'm a bit anxious at the same time - there are still unknowns. "This is a long process. What we do know is we've given it our best shot. "We've thoroughly thought through every possible outcome and issue along the way and we're hoping that they're going to be some good cricket pitches."

Come off it Ross…How many Dickie POTS threads have their been, how many Jason Knight threads, Haydon Roberts threads? All crediting recruitment, how great a deal they were financially. So, no, there isn’t just a focus on the negative, there’s more than plenty of positivity about recruitment, it certainly outweighs one thread on Mebude, and some. Within these 9 pages there is credit for recruitment.
  13. My next door neighbour also had a small part in Lassie, it goes to court next Month.
  14. I do like the thought of the 15 second down idea though. If you’re down that long feigning it, you are effectively gonna have to have 2 mins off the pitch.
  15. Tricky one for @headhunter to ask more probing questions at a senior reds bash. It did come across a bit like an in-house chat but nethertheless it's worth a listen. Well done @headhunter On 19 mins...a budget has not been set? I don't buy that. I appreciate there are a number of permutations but there will be an in-house sum already set but GM is never going to disclose the amount which is the right thing to do.
  16. It wouldn't surprise me that the many American owners buying PL clubs were thinking about the opportunity of making the Prem closer to the US model down the road. I think all the US sports teams are profitable as they have no relegation, salary caps, little regard for local fans moving home games and sometimes moving to a new city etc. I think baseball has around 160 games a season and basketball around 100 including the playoffs and I don't think in any US sport it's a system where the clubs play all the opponents the same number of times. Not saying this is all possible in English football but I am sure some of it can be pushed into the game, and it will make the owners investment portfolio look even better. Will be interesting to see if and when a tipping point comes where fans lose interest, I still think the new EFL TV deal is a big gamble but we will see.
  17. Be interesting to see how that works. They do already play a lot of games on Fridays but it's usually where there isn't much travel involved. The league was very heavily concentrated around the north of the country a few years back but with the demise of the likes of Rhyl, Bangor and Prestatyn it's now more evenly spread.

  20. We never got the best out of him because GJ kept playing him on the wing. The guy was an attacking midfielder; and if played there regularly would have been a success IMO. IIRC correctly; LJ was getting game time in midfield, and meant others playing out of position

  23. Being held in Germany I recall a Bristol version held at the Bristol club in Bristol just before one of the tournaments(2010?) Also several were held in London prior to the Ukraine/Poland tournament in 2012

  25. Hi Porto, Many Thanks for your response, and my apologies for my tardy acknowledgment and reply. Firstly, No, we have not already done the centre, nor have we ever visited Porto. We have visited the Algarve and Madeira, both of which we loved, and I visited Lisbon many years ago on business. This time we intend to spend a week in Porto, some days in the town itself and others exploring the neighbouring areas, including the northern suburbs as you suggest - and lazy lunches in local fish restaurants is very much our thing. We are both keen on walking, so envisaged taking a metro or even a train away from the centre and walking back, preferably along the coast - my wife has this strange desire to walk the Camino Portugues, but that is probably for another time. We shall certainly try and take up some of your suggestions, though, and Thanks for your help.
  26. The pod will be an interesting listen regardless of the NP in or out split during October which was probably polling at 80% in. I expect Nige will paint a picture without actually breaking his NDA...an older head and all that. I thought warnock and pearson were good value on sky last night covering the Leicester game.
  27. Ha, I used to use sewing machine oil on my Technics SL 150 deck, with its Sharp cartridge - I shall have to check on the specs.
