  1. Fair play to them I say. Fantastic achievement to be where they are after being so low so recently. Credit where its due. We all had a great laugh at their expense a few years ago but they have responded pretty well.

  2. Don't waste your time using facts and logic on the f**kwit , it may have been 11 points but more importantly it was 8 teams. 8 teams that would have also got those extra points as that's how the League works. Some umm guests on here actually contribute to threads, and then others ..........

  3. D'you know what? It's smart arse comments like this from sags like you, on a City forum, that just reinforces my dislike for your vile little club. A few posters have said reasonable things about the Blue Few - you just come here trying to be clever. I'm sure you'll be telling all your chums how you've wound us all up! Oh well done...

  4. Considering the blue few are only 8 points off the relegation zone Seventeen must be worried.

  5. Must be the year 2017, celebrating a whopping 2 years as a football league club.

  6. It's not even Halloween yet, I am about as concerned with the chances of them getting promotion as I am with us doing it. At least we are more than 8 points off of a relegation place though....... As we all know only Swindon get promotion before the end of November

  7. What do any of you know about the rovers team standard, you don't go, maybe you see the odd Highlight on TV. It's like me commenting on city, all I know is your doing pretty well and have a loaner striker who scores for fun. If we go up we deserve it, if your in the prem next season you deserve it. The only think for certain is that DC is a fantastic manager, motivationally, tactically, maybe Johnson is as well but it's too early for you to make the call. I think it's great that players that were conference standard have improved so much on a technical level, it's gives hope to anyone in sport that if your coaching is good enough then you can advance quickly and its great for the game that it's not only splashing crazy cash that gets results, ie Leicester. M Taylor is the prime example looked like an ave conf player, in 2 seasons he's become a Marcus Stewart clone, due to Marcus Stewart coaching. On a separate note nice to hear Gerry gows relative on the radio earlier, really touched by the thoughts made ref Gerry by Bristolians That's it... Jager need.

  9. "Thanks for the bites lads" ....hardly a bite really. As per usual a Rovers fan has been shown up You say we spent "millions". How did we spend "millions"? Once again....a Rovers fan making things up. Somethings never change...

  10. 11 points clear and safe a few games before the end of the season, remind me how you lot finished that season? We spent regardless because there were always going to be players leaving and we had freed up a huge chunk from the wage bill by getting rid of the wasters here before that. Also, players who were a part of our title winning season were here the season before that- Frankie, Cunningham, Flint, Williams, Pack, JET, Osborne, Elliot (free transfer having been here on loan the season before) Wagstaff, Reid, Pack, Bryan and Burns. Players we spent money on for that season: Agard (circa 700k), Smith- part exchange and circa 200k, Freeman 300-450k, Ayling was compensation only. Other signings: Little (free), Elliott (free), Wilbraham (free). So that's a maximum spend of 1.3m plus minimal compensation fee for Ayling. So we didn't spent "millions" before we sold Baldock, just the 1. We had also, prior to the sale of Baldock, got rid of 5 or 6 players on big wages.

  12. Couple of million? More gas lies. List the players we bought that equated to us spending a "couple of million".

  13. Did you chose the username seventeen in recognition of the number of years since you finished above us in the league? mind the gap

  14. We actually spent less then we made that season. So get your facts right pal

  15. We finished the season pretty comfortably and then pissed the league with a net spend of £0

  16. Yes and we pissed the league and won the JPT. What dont you get?

  17. We had enough good chances to have comfortably beaten QPR so it's good that we beat Blackburn who adopted the same spoiling tactics . Winning brings confidence. Confidence brings performances.

  18. What a very strange day... Probably the worst game of football I've seen in a long time. The worst referee I've seen in a long time...and the worst atmosphere I've heard down the Gate in a very long time...you could hear a pin drop at times. I actually felt depressed at half time. I've never seen us so static...we were clueless in possession. Very few options available to pass. We seemed to be playing in straight lines instead of creating angles and space. I've never seen so many professional footballers stand so static expecting the ball to come to them... so frustrating to watch. For me the only players that did themselves any credit today, were Mags, Flint and Tomlin to some degree. How Korey got motm is beyond me. I don't think GON and him look good as a partnership based on this performance. Positives... 3 points. Hearing the Gerry Gow chant again...respectful minutes silence, and a great display from Harry and the lads. Put a lump in my throat. Hopefully this is just our blip in performance...because today the majority of players were poor in their movement and understanding.

  19. Well I think we all know you have a fantastic way of making the opposition go down to men and getting about 55 penalties a game. Kudos for that.

  20. Not touchy at all. I can't stand the cretins and hope they implode very soon. It just looks desperate and petty when some fans on here try to mock their league form. By all means...mock them for believing they have pots of cash, mock them for believing that they will get a new ground. Mock them for thinking they are better supported then us. We proved a few years back under Johnson senior that with momentum and a bit of good fortune with injuries ...you can go a long way. Letc hope your right and they implode soon.

  21. Agreed Andy...but anyone who watches football week in week out appreciates that there are two teams out there and you'll not see champagne football every time. Going on the radio to slate a performance like that strikes me as unnecessarily negative. We are, after all, 6th in the Championship...

  22. The chance of them getting a third successive promotion is virtually zero in my opinion, but imagine if they do it. They are going to be so completely out of their depth up here that it will be great entertainment.

  23. Amazing that a single kick of the ball has made life so sweet again! Wilbraham you are the toast of my weekend!

  25. Similar, I'd put him a level below GJ. Frankly my cat could have managed Salisbury City out of the Southern League with a full-time team that was essentially the same as the one who played in the Conference the previous year. Even then, Truro won the League! Dopey's team blew a 14 point lead in March the next season and had to go up through the play offs. One parallel with the 15'ers is how much all the other fans despised the 'old' Salisbury.
