  1. FROM HENBURY GAS ON GASCHAT Ok here we go....... I sat down last night to watch our friends south of the river get smashed by a far superior and well funded Manure United. When i found out they had put out a strong team worth £400m my hopes where raised.... BUT Well done Bristol City, you provided me a with a fantastic spectacle of a football match which you deserved to win (hurts to say that but you cannot deny it) The fact the Snake provided a world class pass for the winning goal hurt even more.... I wish you all the best for the next round and i hope you smash the other plastic team from Manchester NOW PRINT THAT ON OTIB BUT I BET YOU DON'T ! BECAUSE YOU ONLY PUT SH*T ABOUT US ON THAT SH*T FORUM Bet I do! Fair play and nice words, What do I win Henbury?

  2. You just have to laugh at the most deluded of deluded ' **** them. When we hit rock bottom we stood strong and supported our club , they didn’t even fall as far as us and they turned their backs in 1982 and their club died. They hate the fact that our hardcore support is stronger than theirs and they know that whatever a mess our club is in we’ll always stick with it and not turn our backs. I want our owners to give us the facilities that we deserve but I don’t ever want to be like them. Like another poster said they used to get crowds of 28,000 in the 70s and 25,000 of those disappeared when the going got tough only a few years later. And don’t forget we beat the Busby babes 4-0 so we’ve still got the most impressive record match v Man UTD. FTG'

  4. Just spent the last 45 mins scouring the Internet to read all of the compliments about us. Had a gander on sagchat and pains me to say it but they're being very fair to us. I think in some ways it's a victory for real football fans v prem plastics. Give it a day anyways....

  5. What an assist by our £10M player

  6. In 1982, you so wanted our stadium, you tried to steal it from the administrator. Didn't work though. Rovers have ALWAYS wanted the good things that other clubs have - more precisely, what we have, and feel that you're being in some way deprived your entitlement. The reality is you have NOTHING and deserve NOTHING. Whatever asset you've ever owned e.g. Eastville, or stolen e.g. the Memorial Ground, you've squandered. Always the victim's.

  7. Well said and seconded. Hope they enjoyed watching that and the refrains of “Matty Taylor is a Red.” The real reason Marshfield Gash goes camping with those two is they share hobbies. A few years ago him, Savile and Glitter walked into a pub and an old Irish fella at the bar goes - “Oh no! Not Yewtree again!”

  8. Oh, the irony. De facto all Bristolians grow up or reside in 'Redland'. There is, after all, Only One Team In Bristol....

  11. In a genuine sense, I have a lot of respect for those that stick by that lot through thick and thin, as I do with anybody who supports their local side.

  12. It may be unfashionable to say it but, with one or two exceptions, I thought the reactions on Gaschat were pretty respectful. The discussion on how our success impacts on them is interesting, and perhaps i’m in a tiny minority but I respect any football fans who support their local club. I’ve always enjoyed the rivalry with the Gas, it’s part and parcel of being a football fan.

  13. Fair play on that win, I’m sure it must have felt amazing seeing that 93rd minute winner go in? Rarely get the opportunity to pull off a result like that, it’s what footballs all about. Not going to be wishing you luck for the rest of the season, obviously.

  14. Well I would, but then I'm dead classy Anyway, congratulations on your win, all the best in the semis. Only joking, hope you get battered:)

  16. "The air they breathe, the must tell tall tales. If you ask any Rovers fan where they were born they will say "I were born on the island of Sarowak". You cannot get a straight answer from a Bristol Rovers supporter." "Mark are you a Bristol Rovers supporter? I hate to say it but they're shocking liars. I've known 3 Bristol Rovers supporters intimately, shocking liars!" "Look at my Wikipedia page...Danny Frederick Baker, I'm not called Frederick, I've never been called Frederick in my life! Wikipedia? They might as well just call it Bristol Rovers!" "I've quite rightly identified all Bristol Rovers supporters as notorious liars. We want an accurate two word description of every club in the country by the end of the season, so Bristol Rovers, notorious liars. That sort of thing."

  17. I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but a gashead at work told me that their home alone event last night didn't go ahead as they couldn't get the film working and sent everyone away. Just when they couldn't get more tinpot...

  18. Ummm they have, your facilities are what you deserve.

  19. Hawksbee & Jacobs have just come on. They've started the show by saying it must be a hard day to be a Bristol Rovers fan, and that they want to get one on the show...Only trouble is that they can't find any!

  20. Would Matty Taylor have ever dreamed 12 months ago and whilst living in his tiny Emersons Green house and wearing the blue quarters that a year later he would be providing the assist (and what an assist) to help his team beat the biggest (financially) team in the world, Manchester United. Non league to premier league dreams, but perhaps all his dreams might just come true (fingers crossed) in the months to come?

  21. This deserves more than just one 'like'. Certainly on that thread there were some very respectful comments at the beginning. Obviously a few dicks came along with their uneducated and bitter views later on as the situation got too much for them to take. The usual suspect were guilty, one 'Pompey' fan in particular. Thing is, they were coming out with the same stuff when we were approaching the Championship Play Off Final in 2008. Obviously the mask dropped as soon as the final whistle blew that day. One of the best things about last night was that it occurred to me as I walked out that all of my Gas inlaws and colleagues had sat in front of a telly for 93 minutes waiting to see City get heavily beaten and instead had to put up with the agony of a last minute City winner, brilliantly set up by Taylor of all players....and they all watched it. Happy Christmas.

  22. I'm not sure what they are moaning about. One of them says they need the facilities they deserve... pretty sure they have those currently.

  23. To be fair to them, the vast majority of Gasheads I know have been nothing but complimentary. Not happy of course but then neither would I be if the tables were turned! One of them couldn’t help banging on about the “biased local media!” though. Yes that’s right, the local media ought to ignore the club that won a quarter final against Manchester United and instead they should concentrate on the club that lost 4-1 on the weekend to Gillingham.

  25. Rovers fan on H&J on Talksport now just phoned in and although said fair play to City he then undid his praise by saying one thing we (Rovers) do have over them (City) is our support, we have a bigger Away following and everyone tells us how great we are etc etc blah blah blah unreal!!

  26. Things Gasheads can no longer say after last night and not be called liars. Your ground Is too big for you. You play in a library Lansdown has wasted his money Matty Taylor was only bought to piss us off We are the bestest fans in football There's more than one team in Bristol

  30. £371m of “talent” swept aside last night. That’s a lot of Tilsons.

  31. Most giving credit. But, jealousy is a very ugly trait. Some predicting we won't have anywhere near as much of the ball v Citeh! That might be the case but we will bloody well enjoy it. Some are calling the team a 3rd string team... Just to remind the blue few: Lukaku £75m Pogba £89m Martial £59m Mkhitaryan £34m Shaw £33m Lindelof £32m Rojo £18m Darmian £16m Blind £15m Hardly 3rd string. Mean while in Horfield the Evolution is starting today.... Honest!

  33. You mean this hasn't sold out...?!? How many consecutive non-sell outs is that at the Mem now? I assume the run stretches back to Colin 'God in a Rovers Shirt' Daniel's last appearance there?
