  1. I think you’ll find the Rovers fans would stay for the Fizz concert If only to listen to “The Land Of Make Believe”....

  3. I would say if Bognor Utd rock up at the Sags there's a good chance they would get the points anyway...!

  4. Like converting the Olympic Stadium to a football stadium for West Ham? I’m sure it would have been cheaper and quicker to start again! I bet they will find asbestos or something in the Hanger, causing delays and expense. Crazy decision not to proceeed at TM where the work already done has cost millions.

  5. It certainly was! I particularly liked the post by the guy who said he goes to less away games now because ‘he has already been to a lot of the stadiums...’ - I thought they were ‘loyal and true’ and travel to away games ‘in massive numbers because it’s just what they do...’ - very confused, it seems some of the ‘loyal and true massive away army’ only go to each stadium once?!! That contradicts their constant mutterings about their ‘following.’ I’ll never forget the sad sag who rang into Talksport the day after we dumped Man Yoo out of the league cup and basically all he could contribute was ‘yeh but, yeh but, we got a bigger away following than them...’ - pathetic and showed himself up in front of the nation.....like the other saddo who went onto the Man City forum when we played them to make pretty much the same argument....they didn’t have much time for that numpty either... As I’ve said a few times, da Roverzzzz are just like the annoying nephew that you ignore all year round and then on Christmas Day you come face to face and instantly realise why you’ve ignored them for the other 364 days....

  10. Ah! Braintree ... I remember it well... .... and the family club made the national press again ... for all the wrong reasons ... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/bristol-rovers-non-league-party-takes-4190400

  11. On this day four years ago, 6/9/2014: Braintree 2 Bristol Rovers 0. Seem to recall the Gash fans didn’t take that defeat too well.

  12. Some of them would lose out at just 3-0!

  13. Well, it would save the away team actually having to play the match to get the result they would have got anyway I suppose.

  14. The floor space of the proposed Brabazon hangar arena is shown here. Good luck getting a football pitch in a space the size of a tennis court saggies! https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/what-bristol-arena-filton-could-1278493

  15. wouldn't be funny as f if it did though, and all the opposing times decline to play under a roof and were awarded 3-0 wins

  17. Out of interest it takes 3 weeks to change West Ham’s ground from football to other uses, eg athletics or concerts etc. If the Gas go with this mid conversation they will have to change it back for the next game, and they got no chance if they play Saturday Tuesday Let ‘em dream though. If they haven’t got dreams what have they got

  18. Give em break FFS, every prowed gashead is taught that 4500 is a significantly higher number than 8000.

  19. Oh yes, that muppet on the Man City Forum; “They might’ve taken 8000 to the Etihad but we took 4500 to Chelsea.”

  23. You're forgetting that it would be the council (taxpayers) of Bristol that would be building it, any extra cost associated with making football possible there would be a bill generously footed by the council as a Thank You to the fewers for being so wonderfully great and raising the positive image of Bristol which us gert teds do so much to try and destroy. they have a unique kit and they're ever so lovely, they deserve it. they will be allowed to keep the money from the mem to spend on players too.

  24. A stadium would have to be a separate structure. No way could they have the fewers done by 5pm on a Saturday and then get it ready for Bucks Fizz to play their hits at 8pm.
    1 point
  25. its because they are doing what they always do, and expecting some one else to pay for it (The council) and just gift it to them

  26. They're getting quite excited about the Brabazon site! No substance to it and no money but it's gonna add to our fun in the future. 'Let's build an arena but we can't use it on Saturdays as the gash are playing. Oh yeah, we're providing office facilities as well'. Good luck with that saggies! OTIB, MTC.

  27. Really we needed to go the opposite way, produce very good batting pitches to get max batting points and back our bowlers, that's the only way to think we'd have a chance to catch Surrey, not dropping all bonus points hoping we'd win.

  28. Unless, perhaps, @phantom was making a play on words by using 'penedant' to emphasise the previous use of the word 'tenet' instead of 'tenant'....

  32. I am really confused by the section of the post I have highlighted, what in their history would make a neutral more likely to choose them over us as a ream to follow? Neither club has a great track record, but ours would pan out better and in recent years, a lot better, is there a historical gem I am unaware of?

  33. I particularly liked this bit..... "I disagree a bit about this. If you think why you yourself are a GasHead, is it anything to do with free will or choice? Did you consciously choose blue over red after carefully considering both options and even exploring? Of course not! Few actually do. Rovers choose you.. (By geography, pier pressure or in my case I was conditioned and groomed by a family member in pre pubescent era)" Aside from the fact the guy appears to be from WSM, there's a definite case for contacting social services for historic abuse.......forget the sexual connotations, making the lad watch the gas deserves time inside!

  36. In a world where fans of 1st & 2nd tier clubs feel it’s all turned a bit corporate & sanitised, despite attendances being at the highest for a generation or two, Rovers are “keeping things real” by maintaining the age old traditions of racial abuse, low attendances & keeping the away fans stood on uncovered terraces. Looking back fondly on the days, a quarter of a century ago, when they had the means to spend £375k on a player. #mindthegap
