This was Everton, over 100 years ago 1884-86; Shrewsbury, also over 100 years ago 1907 - 08 Rovers went into their "unique quarters" in 1935-367 points

A derogatory nickname we gave them, an old argyle dirge about some prostitute and an outfit jesters & clowns wear at a circus. Some great selling points there.3 points

Looks like he’s practising for a future career as a Bruce Forsyth tribute act....and, with delicious irony, the photo below appeared in The Grimsby Telegraph, as it was taken at Cleethorpes Golf Club...2 points

That was fantastic derby, right before Christmas too.I They scored after 27 secs if memory served but we hit back in great style.1 point

What a night that was. A goal down after about 30 seconds if I recall, then a purple patch when we scored 3 quick goals before they pulled one back to set up a nervy finish. I was in a north Bristol sixth form absolutely crawling with gobby sags so that win was sweet.1 point

Yeah, terrible timing as well with all the hype still around Tyson Fury. I feel for Whyte, think he deserves better than this fight. The rematch would have been interesting if it had immediately followed the first fight but don't think there's much interest now.1 point

Just listening to Frank on TS. He is certainly right that Whyte v Chisora being a PPV fight is a complete joke.1 point

Bit rude. We Horfield residents are generally rather cultured I'll have you know. Whilst we do have to put up with a handful of ill-mannered scruffs dressed by George at Asda wandering our neighbourhood every couple of weeks or so, most of us simply stay indoors until the frightful oiks have returned to their caravans. Either that or we go and watch City away. I do have one neighbour who goes to Rovers games occasionally, but he's an exiled Palace fan from South London who finds it, frankly, all a bit shite to be honest, but can't be arsed to travel further afield to watch a game.1 point

Bit harsh to compare them with a team no one has heard of scrabbling around in the lower leagues in their country, after all they are one of the most successful teams in the Mexican league.1 point

"en route for the top division" ? They must have took the scenic route, they took another 10 years after they played us...!!1 point

I’m a big fan of the Vixens. Cracking goal by Ella Rutherford yesterday. Love Carla Humphrey. World Cup will be fascinating too - women’s football is finally getting the attention it deserves. I’m much more interested in the City women’s team’s fortunes than that stupid rugby team - pointless kick and clap nonsense. Some of the disparaging comments I’ve seen on various City FB pages about the women’s team have been downright disgraceful. Made by blokes who the ladies of the team would no doubt run rings around on the football field.1 point

On the Muller Rd end for that one, bedlam, absolute bedlam! They were trying to lord it over us beforehand but we soon showed who Bristol's better club was and have continued ever since. Terry Cooper is an proper legend, end of.1 point

What a day! I was stood with my mate in the south enclosure, in front of the stand that had mysteriously combusted, and when Hirst's goal went in we went mental. It was the turning point for City after a most horrendous few years. Loved TC. What a bloke.1 point

I'm a watcher of their two main forums, I read the vitriol ridden crap they write about us, I listen to the total nonsense my Rovers supporting brother spouts, I think of their attempts to grab AG and their quite disgraceful plan to turn The Memorial (to the dead of the 1st World War) Ground Into a supermarket, and quite frankly I will laugh myself shitless the day Rovers folds and disappears for ever.1 point

This is an extremely hard nosed comment with not even a modicum of compassion for BRFC. It is however an opinion with which I am in total agreement.1 point

After reading some comments on here who have sympathy for the gas , and that we are all football fans wanting the best for football in Bristol and the West Country. I would like to make my position clear and unequivocal, I want them to go bust and out of business and Bristol Rovers never to return . I have no shrewd of empathy, sympathy or humanity for them.1 point
