  3. This was one of my concerns about the points deduction option, i.e. that it could be applied to a club where the effect would be relatively negligible and to avoid a big fine that might cause a knock on effect, in terms of the club's financial solvency and the danger of causing real financial problems. However........ If a points penalty is applied to Brum, then it does set a precedent, so it makes it difficult for the EFL not to apply the same sanction where a club would be hit hard i.e. taking them out of the promotion race or putting them into a relegation fight. Should Villa fall foul of ffp, then given their transfer activity - the players they've brought in- and not selling players like Grealish surely it would come into the aggravated breach category and deserving of the toughest penalty?

  4. Just rumoured on 5 Live that a decision is imminent on Brum and that it will be a ' sporting sanction', i.e. a points deduction.

  10. A 12-15 point deduction could see them slide into the mire tbh. @chinapig @Davefevs Punishment would fit the crime well and truly- great news eh!

  11. It came from Mark Clemmit , who knows his stuff. Will set an important precedent if true. Could the EFL for instance deduct points from Brum but not Villa?

  14. That'd be the aggravated breach- 9 points if proven according to that Times piece. In addition to any deduction this season. I doubl Birmingham will be free of FFP issues in fact until 2020/21 at the earliest, so it's never been tested fully but in theory I suppose they would be open to rolling punishments until it is cleared. Whether that happens in practice is a different matter.

  15. Woah.....nice. Hope you’re right. No point in FFP otherwise. Watershed moment.

  16. Can't see Milller being anywhere near good enough to give AJ any problems, fancy an early stoppage and a lot of grumbling afterwards. Feel a bit sorry for AJ in the respect that some boxing "fans" have turned against him. Its not his fault Wilder's people have been messing him around and it's absolutely ridiculous to suggest he's scared of fighting anyone. Find it annoying that some people treat the sport like football in that you have to side with a team and hate everyone else. There's no reason to side with Fury or Joshua, just appreciate a rare time that we've probably got the two best heavyweights in the world. Hope they both keep winning until they eventually meet. What a fight that would be.

  17. Yes I do I think the identity of the one found is irrelevant and to think otherwise , I have to say a very bizarre , and discourteous , thought or belief

  18. There is another issue here, I accept that perhaps Cardiff and not Nantes released the payment demand into the public domain and that begs another big question, why is there no process in place whereby the really nice, helpful and of course not corrupt people who run FIFA, the FFF or the premier league step in and loan on an interest free agreement the money to Nantes if there need is that pressing, it's not as if they haven't got a bob or two. This whole tragic tale brings home the sad feeling of brown envelopes full of money that everybody within the process of a transfer gets, that is lost to football forever and a day.

  19. Do you think they would have called the search off if the body had been identified as the pilot? I don't know where or how they would look as I'm not an expert but it just seems wrong.

  20. Understand your sentiments But grossly unfair , even if they have ‘called off the search for the pilot’ If the pilot is not in or the vicinity of the wreckage (Bearing in mind they have been using remote drones to look) where do you suggest they search ? Lets hope the currents and tides bring the pilot to be found

  21. What would be good , would be Cardiff pay Nantes what they are due and Nantes donate a proportion to Salas family
