I think the quote was “ I want the whole of Bristol to visit the show, so I’m not going to alienate anybody by saying what a pathetic footballing side Bristol Rovers are.”5 points

???????????? Nearly 1000 pages of ?????. I’ve been thinking ? maybe of producing a book for Christmas based upon some absolute gems from this legendary thread. Title choice could be interesting.... ”Tinpot Bristol Rovers - The gift that keeps on giving” or ”NOT the 6th richest club in England” or ”BR15FC - From Ragass to Ratshit” or ”Ted’s In The Away End” or ”There’s only one Colin Daniel” or ”Dissolution not Evolution” or ”Bristol Rovers - The Family Club - Loved By All” or ”Locked Out” or ”BR15FC - England’s biggest Campsite” or ”Watertight Down” any more suggestions?4 points

It's just fun, football is supposed to be enjoyable, and if you can't enjoy your rivals misery every now and then I feel sorry for you!4 points

Nah - laughing at your rivals is part and parcel of being a football fan....we are both lucky and unlucky to be in a two-team City - but laughing at the gas keeps me young, the more immature the reason the better! You can think it’s embarrassing if you like, I think it’s funny....rivalry runs deep in this national game of ours....Man Yoo still chant about hating Leeds even though they are in a different stratosphere - it ain’t tinpot - it’s part of being a fan....3 points

A local pub for local people. I have told this story before but it merits a repeat. An American guy wanted to book a room in a pub in the Highlands and when he arrived he gets talking to the landlord. It was all very jovial, the yank explained to all in the bar that he was researching his family tree and he had roots in the town. The whiskey flowed and stories were exchanged. As the night grew to a close the landlord asked his guest for his passport to check him in. When he saw the name on the passport he threw the guy out on the street. Apparently , over 600 years ago his clan had betrayed the landlord’s clan to the English ! Now what makes this story more interesting is that it was my Scots friend , Howard who told it to highlight the small mindedness of his fellow countrymen. Needless to say he no longer lives there.2 points

The past was alterable. The past never had been altered. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia.2 points

I dont disagree. I take the piss out of the gas constantly. Its just the colin daniel being a legend bit, which i cant get on board with. He's never played for city... he gets more love than Lee Johnson did as a player. And we almost got to the promised land with LJ as a regular :laugh:1 point

Today’s gift? A typical day in the life of a Fewer from Slagchat..... I cracked open a beer in the garden earlier as I'm celebrating the 50th birthday of the one and only Sir Dean Windass.... He's one of our own.....1 point

It has just been announced on the Burton Albion web site that the FA have given permission for Colin Daniel to go on emergency loan to Barnsley which means he will be available to play for them at the Mem on the 4th May for the last game of the season.... https://www.burtonalbionfc.co.uk/latestnews/colin-daniel-loan-barnsley1 point

Yeah, they are arranging for Diane Abbott to announce the figures to their fans, although she may turn the opportunity down as she doesn’t have any time for racists.1 point

Ah correct you are, on both accounts. My mistake. Thinking about it, it also looks too well stocked (and too big) to be their club shop. I've obviously had a mare1 point
