  1. IMO we have punched above our weight. But our players have given their all and have come up short. No complaints from me . Proud of the progress our club is making. Up the city

  2. What a performance. Their right back could not cope with him. A run in the first half and early in the second turning their defence inside out. Just a shame about his weak efforts at goal first half. On one of his good days that is what Pato offers.

  4. Ok, today is MASSIVE! We all know that. We all know about fine margins. We all have differing opinions. If you are one of the more “negative” posters, attendees at AG, or like to err on the side of caution by not building your hopes up... can you keep it to yourself until 5pm and see where we are then..? We need the players to pick up positivity & belief today. If we fall short, let’s at least say we’ve done all that we can. If you need to come back at 5pm and tear the performance to shreds, then fine, but until then, let’s be the belief for the players to feed off

  5. Outplayed them. Positive signs going into next season. Red card killed it. Looked a horrible decision as semanyo slipped? Very proud of this team.

  6. Not a sending off for me (watching on TV) AS in complete control of his tackle. He never left the ground. TH just too slow and AS trailing leg caught him. It could be argued it wasn't even a foul. The decision for the sending off has let down a young man. Let down the fans. Let down my football club and let down the game of football. Where do we get these referees from. Inept useless and completely out of his depth. Stevo

  7. Proud of our players today; gave everything, never gave up, couldn't have asked for more. Showed great restraint after the red card, when we could have done another Villa and ended up with a further charge. Proud of what the squad and the whole management team have achieved this season. We lost three key players in the summer, had more than our fair share of setbacks, Diedhiou's suspension, injuries to key players, Korey, two keepers (at the same time). Without the resources, or the disregard for FFP, that others have, we've built a stronger squad, and we've done it around our strengths a

  8. It’s definitely a day for positivity and perspective, whatever happens. Fact is we are a club heading in the right direction and have been for five seasons in a row now. Virtually no one would have predicted we would be playing for a play off place by the time of our final home game. Even if we don’t make it, it’s been a season that has exceeded expectations. I just hope people manage to keep perspective and remember this if we ultimately fall short. Can’t wait for the game today - COYR!

  9. I'm usually very reluctant to give a referee stick, and have often criticised fans who do ...but that has really left me feeling sick today. Villa the other week ...Derby getting a different dodgy pen last week, and some of his decisions today ....just absolutely shambolic You cannot tell me these referees remain impartial. These kind of decisions are happening to often Not just against us. But other clubs in this division seem to suffer with injustices aswell

  14. The mentality of some fans on here is truly bizarre. Anyone actually at the game today as I was would have seen that the players gave their all and dominated a good team for decent periods with 10 men. Fair play to them

  16. It’s over to you mate. I’ve been the biggest critic of Johnson, but he’s proved me wrong this season. He’s proved he can take this squad beyond it’s capabilities, and I think had we signed a striker and not recalled Semenyo it’d be a different story but that’s a debate that’s been and gone and I’m done with it. Johnson has my full trust now, it’s up to you Steve, please back him. He’s gained your trust, let’s have Kalas and Da Silva, let’s have some quality and go for it next season in the positions we need. Such a sad end to the season but we’re in a great position as a cl

  17. Jesus. Johnson has worked wonders with a squad that is lightweight for this division. I'm not a massive fan of the guy, but resources to achievement we have punched above our weight. We've uncovered some rough diamonds with our youth transfer policy. We'll look for 3-4 again in the summer. We need a quality spine. Webster & Kalas. A new CM and a goalscorer. We were short 15 goals this season. We won't go moggy like Wolves - if they didn't go up they would have been in serious dwang with FFP. In short, a bit more of the same. Football is rigged toward the establishe

  20. Bringing on the most inexperienced kid on biggest game of season. This is why we tire of getting behind the club. Sick of fans saying get behind the team. People do that every game every year and city in return give you nothing.if you pay your money you have every right to do what you want so fair play to those that leave early.#johnson still out

  21. Remember when Cotts put 5 on the bench to make some sort of point to Lansdown? Well, Baker went off injured and LJ chose to replace him with Semenyo - a lad it’s been widely rumoured LJ was forced to bring back by Lansdown rather than splash the cash on a ready made striker in January. Fast forward to this afternoon. Baker off injured (surely he must leave?) and LJ has a big decision to make. Who does he bring on? Kasey Palmer - tried and tested spark and creativity. Eliasson - in good form - best crosser we have. Or compete wild card - Semenyo. Was a “this is your player Stev

  24. A legendary OTIB meme, which was also my first attempt redesigning our badge a few years ago now, I think captured the essence of Ashton Gate far better than Jon Lansdown's unicycling Robin.

  28. This is what happens when for 2 seasons straight we have blown a great position in january by not recruiting a decent striker, lj and the players couldnt have done any more, they have given everything,,,, we are about 15 million up on last summer and recalling semenyo was the best we could come up with. The club has messed this up, again

  30. Thought he epitomised the performance today and underlined his YPOTY award. Tackled, passed, pressed, drove us forward and got efforts on goal. He's a real asset for us both financially and on the pitch My MOM today.

  33. Semenyo coming on was a big gamble which didn’t pay off in the most brutal of fashions. Matty Taylor or Palmer wouldn’t have made that challenge. I like LJ, but sometimes I think he dreams of the headlines (e.g. Bristol City academy star scores first goal to down derby) rather than the sensible decision. In some ways it was a mental decision not to go for one of our seasoned pros.

  39. Tomorrow everyone knows the importance of 3 points so please don’t just sit there moaning and having a go at manager or players , get out your seat and show your passion , show how much you want the club to go forward , cheer these players who have taken the season down to the last home game and gave us something to cling to cheer them on Congradulate them on another year of improvement we can’t ask for more , we have no Devine right to promotion in this ever improving division -so enjoy tomorrow, paint the kids faces red and be PROUD to be a city fan . Let’s hear the ASHTON ROAR it’s down to

  40. So we need all available support for Tuesday. It’s not yet but over. We’re making the playoffs. We win on Tuesday. Derby lose on Wednesday to Swansea. Final games of the season on Sunday. She’s warming up like Charlotte Church. Aden is confident of a win. So’s Frank. But we’re all at Hull. It’s shit or bust. The gods that Roos prayed to at halftime are looking down on us. He says they need some fortune. He’s reading the FA letters for those idiots in black who pulled our pants down at Villa and today.... Fammy’s tried his bicycle kick all season.... Th
