  1. That's how these people operate, integrating themselves into organisations which give them the opportunity to have contact with children, such as church organisations, sports clubs, youth groups etc. In my view, far too serious a topic to be used to take a cheap shot at a rival football club.

  2. I am sure that LJ came away from that game today thinking “I wonder if there is some genius on a forum somewhere who can teach me how to do my job properly?”

  3. For those completely results orientated I'll save you the time "we won" , "fam scored" "3rd!" you can move on now! It's a results business and we got the result and I'm delighted with it. We could however make it a lot easier than we are doing. I mostly thank Joe Allen and Jack Hunt for it. LJ not so much. Playing without wingers with Famara is awful, truly awful. He doesn't hold the ball up well and when he does he never makes it into the box afterwards. He absolutely should not be seen in this 5-3-2 formation again. He blocks the space for Palmer who had his worst game since signing/Lee

  4. Stoke will play worse and win. City will play far better and won't. Thus unfolded the latest early chapter in a Championship season that promises very different fates for both teams - and for Johnson's men is starting to gather an unerring momentum. The struggling hosts played well and were worth at least a point, but City, who failed to capitalise on Joe Allen's early red card for a wreckless clattering challenge on Josh Brownhill, rode their luck and stole the win through two wicked Hunt crosses. Captain Brownhill was outstanding in a far deeper role at the heart of City's midfield

  5. If I was going, NO. This applause for the dead is becoming very tedious. So people die throughout the year. I have always considered that we go to football to forget real life, not have it rammed down our throats at every match. A minutes silence or applause once a season is sufficient.

  6. If clapping for a minute helps a family or person to feel that someone they loved is remembered, appreciated and cared about by everyone who shares the community then I would clap every game. Quite surprised people find it such a hardship tbh

  7. Watching the first half of Derby v Cardiff & the commentator couldn’t help himself by mentioning how Derby were having to play this season without three of their influential players having lost Tomori, Mount & Wilson! Those same three players that weren’t actually Derby’s players & it was also mentioned at how Derby had decided against going for big money signings & would be concentrating on bringing through youth & only signing Premier League players on loan, this is apparently Derby’s own decision & nothing to do with their financial position?!? And in case

  8. Quite agree. We have more than enough things to laugh at Rovers about, I'm not going to use some kidding fiddling I love you as further ammo. He was clearly looking for an environment where he could 'befriend' kids. City/Rovers, makes no difference. He's a proper wrong 'un and should be locked up.

  9. Unlike the OP, I “got” the starting formation. We were hugely open at 4-4-2 last week, so to go back to 5-3-2 and see if Fam could do the Afobe role made sense. I’d also note it’s not not playing with wingers that doesn’t play to Fams strengths - it’s not getting crosses in, and with 5-3-2 and Rowe/Hunt having licence, we should have been able to do that. So starting lineup gets a pass from me, and is not a lesson learnt. What didn’t make sense was the sub. It was reasonable to go more attacking, but the sub and reversion to 4-4-2 meant (on paper at least), we’d nullify in a large part th

  10. 13 year old Stoke City supporter lost his 59 year old Father suddenly last Monday. The young lad has made a request for a minutes applause to the Stoke City fans in the 59th minute. For all us City fans attending, can we all join in the minutes applause.

  11. But they had 3 loan players who were all much better than Derby, and were only loaned there as Lampard was their manager. We loaned in 3 players who we showed this summer were at our level by recruiting them. Therefore you could argue they were in a false position due to having those three players

  13. Actually thought he got bullied today ( not a massive surprise). If you watch closely he struggles to read the play when it comes to covering ground defensively also. Not a criticism as he is so young but I do feel we have the tendency to build players up too quickly which will only bring more pressure. Made an absolutely cracking pass in the first half that should have been tucked away. Nagy will come straight back in I'd imagine.

  18. I’ll say it..we won, Fam scored, 3 points, 3rd. That’ll do nicely for me. We won’t play against ten man Stoke every week so don’t expect those tactics from LJ every week.

  21. It doesn’t help without afobe. He makes intelligent runs that stretch a defence and give KP options, they were all closed off today . I know some love fam for his work rate which imo should be a given for any player. The fact is he’s not a very intelligent footballer and doesn’t make defenders work enough off the ball.

  26. 1st v 3rd next week then! Huge match and surely heading for a sell out. Irrespective of the Leeds result tomorrow, next weekend’s game COULD see us go top of the Championship! What a game it promises to be. When was the last time we were able to go top of the second tier with a win?

  28. It was as far removed as smash and grab that I've seen despite the local conotation. Smash and grab indicates a back to the wall performance with a breakaway winner - this was patently not the case.

  29. 15th September 2018 we beat Sheff Utd 1-0 to go third after seven games, one point off Leeds who were top, so the next match we must have had the chance of going top subject to other results. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45456099

  30. Also some people seem to have already forgotten that this still very much a fledgling group. Another debut today, and yet we are unbeaten in the league since the transfer window, We will have bad games and spells until this group really gel. I think we need Nagy back as quickly as possible, he will anchor the midfield in a way that Massengo is not quite ready for.

  31. Palmer didn't have the best of games because Stoke sat back and defended for the rest of the match. Think about it, with 20 players in Stokes half of the pitch, he's not exactly easy for him to operate is it?

  33. The difference in the team today was the lack of movement up front as a result of not having Afobe. I think both Fammy and Semmy were disappointing today but we won so I dont care.

  35. Stoke did a nice thing when we were there last season on New Year’s Day. They put up details on the big screen of their fans who had passed away during the previous year. I don’t like these minutes of applause and certainly wouldn’t want one for me when my time comes. Those who will miss me will truly miss me, the vast majority that join in any applause will not. Hardly anyone applauding would know me so the gesture would seem a bit empty to me. That said I will always join in with a requested applause during a specific minute, as this does seem to provide some comfort to those who have

  37. If somebody from the disabled section chucks a flare at the S82 section at the next game will there be calls to move S82 to a safer part of the ground? In my personal experience, those with disabilities tend to want to be treated the same as anyone else, and the club clearly understands this by having so many disabled sections across different parts of the ground I.e. so those who require those sections have a good choice. To suggest that putting a disabled section next to S82 was inconsiderate or whatever is completely discriminatory. Disabled people have just as much right to be t

Bad decision by Reid to go there imo, think he was wanted by City, he could of come back & been the main man. But we move on & im more than happy with how our transfer window panned out. COYR
