  1. **** them. All that pathetic whining they did when Taylor joined us, throwing accusations left, right and centre. I hope we never consider sending any players there.

  2. They can **** off. We want our young players playing for the other 22 teams in L1 AGAINST the 15ers, ideally scoring against them Hinder them, not help them.

  4. In truth I'd be happy to loan them some of our emerging talent if, and only if, they agree to sell us ahhh, well, um, er, um, hmmm, aaah ... nope, f'ck 'em.

  5. Reality is, they have an unproven coach, minimal medical facilities, a training pitch that requires players to clear fox shit from, no money and a shit stadium. The only thing our young players might learn are. A familiarity with their sprinkler system, they have probably seen it before. An understanding that other League One clubs have better facilities than the Fewers. Fanta can be faked.

  6. Not really a great environment for our young starlets to develop, is it. Portaloos, tin baths, no training facilities and having to be subjected to racism and shouts of S'head after every misplaced pass. There are much better places they can go in the football league - 90 of them to be precise.

  7. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/exclusive-bristol-rovers-want-forge-3579775 Personally I hope we never help them out with our promising young talents ever again. Could turn them from a mid-table side into a promotion challenging one.

  8. I actually think it's good for our young footballers to be sent away from Bristol to play in another town or city, I think thats an important part of their development as a person. Most of the youngsters likely still live with mum and dad so it's a valuable life lesson for them to be taken out of their comfort zone and it's a real test of their character. If a youngster cant handle being away from the family home, then its questionable if they could handle the pressures that being a footballer bring. The only advantage to joining the sags would be that the player would still be able to train with us during the week, but we could still have that at clubs like FGR etc.

  9. "I can't comment on that [the Matty Taylor transfer] because I wasn't here, but certain people at this club will say the right thing wasn't done on one or two occasions." Still blaming us for their own mistake of giving Taylor a ridiculously low buy out clause then? Widdrington can say what he likes, but we all know who burned the bridges in the first place. Wael of Fortune, trying to be a hero to the blue few. "No more transfers between the two clubs". Print that bastard!

  10. Although LJ and the coaching staff at City are the primary force in deciding who stays to play, and who goes on loan, luckily, we have one man at the top who has the final say over everything. Steve Lansdown has principles and I’m sure he would rather show his backside in Burton's window (with apologies to Gary Johnson) than allow loans to Bristol Rovers

  12. The Fewers don't seem that enthusiastic about it. http://gaschat.co.uk/thread/15350/widdrington-wants-closer-links-teds They'd probably give their mum's left bollock for a player like Morrell, now a full Welsh international, rather than believing their 'yoof setup' is any good because one of them qualifies for Gibraltar reserves because a monkey ripped the wing mirror off his dad's Austin Maxi at a safari park once.

  16. You really do need a bigger ground, Miah. Build it and they will come (so make sure that the walls can be wiped clean).

  18. Have heard some interesting information on the Fruit market for their potential new home. They put in an offer upwards of £20 mil for the land, however it was tied up in all sorts of clauses about them selling the Mem and projected profits and such which meant the current owners wouldn't have seen the full amount till around 2028/2030. (Actually Wise on rovers part given their current financial situation, but not what the fruit market owners want) There are several parties which own the fruit market and they are looking for money up front. They are mostly of an older generation probably looking towards retirement and are keen for the market be kept running by the new owners in some shape or form. These parties are not currently represented by someone which is difficult as it means that anyone looking to buy the site are having to negotiate with each of the parties rather than 1 pwhich organises their collective interests and demands. All of this will make it difficult for them or anyone else to secure a deal in the current state of affairs. There are other interested parties in purchasing the site or wider parts of st Phillip's marsh for other major developments which could may or may not benefit any stadium proposals. Should the current owners get serious about cashing out and employing an agent it could cost rovers a bit more than they are willing to pay as well as additional demands to cater to. Particularly if they cant pay most of it up front. Maybe they will join up with a property developer to provide something similar to the future ashton gate wider development ? ( flats hotels and offices as well as the main stadium) but theres lots of questions about rovers current financial situation, and how they could convince someone to get into bed with them. My view, it could very well happen but probably not before 2025. If the council are supportive of a stadium in that location it would make sense as both grounds would be close to any future transport or infrastructure investments which are planned for the area. Any money spent on amenities like bars and cafes run by the club or local businesses would see increased returns if the site is shared by a stadium and flats and offices. Anyway. Back to taking the P*ss out of them. And apologies for any formatting and spelling, I'm on a train on my mobile.
