  1. Listening to the post match interview of Rovers manager on Radio Bristol. Not once has he deflected the blame - admits hes trying his best, he set the plan for the game this week and he takes full responsibility for their defeat today. When interviewer brought up he wasnt on the pitch so cant take all the blame, he denied this and refused to shift responsibility. Johnson in the same situation would have thrown half the team under the bus and deflected all responsibility from himself. I find it hard to like LJ personally because I feel he really lacks professionalism. After a good few games hes all over tv, radio etc doing interviews after man united win, takes all credit for any positive performances. We all know what happens when things arent going so well

  2. He's also presiding over an absolutely dreadfully awful run of results and has taken his team from the fringes of the automatic promotion places to firmly in the bottom half. I'd much prefer to have a manager who talks the occasional bullshit but has a team two points off the playoffs in the Championship, than one who talks a good game but produces sod all results. But hey, any reason to have a go at Johnson I suppose.

  4. We sign a very good player, bang in form and managed to turn him into a bit part player that doesn’t see the football in a forward position, from the bench. Nuts!

  5. Johnson will always revert to workman like players. Weimann, Diedhoiu, Paterson, COD. Players like Wells, Palmer, Eliasson are wasted under this coach.

  6. But but but, Kasey Palmer has been sh*t. Why does him being left out prove that LJ has lost it? Palmer needs to realise that the world doesn’t owe him a living.

  11. “Kasey Palmer has been shit”- He’s played 33 minutes since the Sheffield Wednesday game in December. THIRTY THREE. Everyone has been terrible lately and Kasey still can’t get a decent look in. Somethings not right.

  12. Imagine starting playing pre-season in and outside of the Chelsea first team, moving to a team that supposedly really wants you and you get shoved almost completely out of the team by a manager out of his depth and clueless.

  14. Kasey Palmer is a quality attacking midfielder who should be playing at the head of a midfield free / in behind a forward who makes runs. We haven't given him the opportunity to succeed this season which is a real shame. I'd very much enjoy the sort of football that he could enable us to play - incisive counter attacks in behind the defence rather than aimless ******* punts at Fam.

  15. We really don’t need thread after thread started with the same message from you Youve said the same on Match day thread Even as somebody who has little faith in LJ , it’s tedious - there are numerous threads to post your thoughts or views

  17. All season I have been saying on here how I think he is better than Hunt. Hunt may have the odd brilliant game, most often when we dominate - which rarely happens! But with the amount we have to defend in games, surely the better defender with more pace is the better option. He's quicker, stronger, and actually on the ball is less sloppy than Hunt who can be very sloppy. Being decent in the air is a bonus too. I understand Hunt is a better crosser of the ball and can have great games like Huddersfield at home. It depends what Hunt shows up. But for me Pereira has more to his game, and can improve so much. I would look to sign him in the summer but not sure he'd want to come here, considering he has mainly played well but for some reason keeps getting dropped.

  20. I'm sorry but how can people support this idiot. Football is shocking, chances on goal nearly non existent. All you Johnson supporters no one wants him to fail but come on. How can you justify defending him I just don't get it. We get out played every match and still you say he is the man to take us forward.

  25. Happy Leap Year! A nostalgia trip today. The last time we played on a leap year day was 20 years ago. 29th February 2000. After getting rid of Tiny Penis, we were being managed by Tony Fawthrop. It was the Southern Area Final 1st Leg in the Auto Windscreens Shield (aka LDV Trophy, Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Check A Trade something or other etc etc) against Exeter City and we won 4-0. Goals were scored by Tony Thorpe, Joe Burnell, (fun factoid of the day - Joe followed in the footsteps of Dion "up the stairs to the bedrooms" Dublin and is now a property developer!) Peter Beadle and a certain flying Scotsman that lingers around AG to this day... I've tried to find an online match report from that time, like the evil post or some such to no avail, but I did find this for a bargain £1.35. Just look at that kit folks. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Football-Programme-BRISTOL-CITY-v-EXETER-CITY-Feb-2000-AWS/372866654988?hash=item56d095a30c:g:1vwAAOSwW1Nd4nnt I did also find Scott's goal on YouTube. The caption reads that it was the goal that sent us to Wembley. Again, this was in the 1st leg. In the second leg, it was a 1-1 draw that Beadle scored in. We went to OG Wembley v Stoke and THAT kit and... yeah... we know what happened... So a leap year. Can we leap back after Tuesday's disaster? Today absolutely stinks of a draw. 1-1. They are crap at home and we are just... crap. However, a good kick up the backside and hopefully we can get that draw. Big Frank is still off sick so no reunion there and also Mason Bennett on loan from Derby might get some stick because he's a bone head. COYRS!

  26. I don’t think he’s as good as the fans collectively think. He’s got a great cross on him but he doesn’t do much else. Maybe I’m being harsh but he’s a bit of a passenger, especially in a physical game like today was expected to be

  28. Big reaction to that line up. Again, let's wait and see how they line up and ultimately play, but I can see the process behind some of those changes. 1. Bentley - could well be injured 2. Hunt for Pereira - let's be honest Hunt has had several poor games. 3. Smith back in - well we've been over run in midfield recently...so..... 4. Henrikson out - well he had a poor game and is still working back to fitness. 5. COD for Eliasson - COD is more physical and defensively minded than Eliasson, away from home. 6. Weimann for Wells - fine if we go 4-4-2, that's a big call - but if we've gone 4-5-1, against Millwall, Fam is the 1 up alone. 7. Benkovic - do you know he's fit?! Rumours of fall outs? Well we've heard it all before - if it's true and he's fallen out with Bentley, Rowe, Henrikson and Benkovic...well i'd imagine he'd be gone pretty soon and you'll find out all about it. For now though, just more facebook rumours....

  30. Fancy picking O'Dowda to play AWAY AT MILLWALL. The kid jumps tackles like he's at the olympics. Pereira over Hunt for a game like this?! 442 is it? So another formation change and another SIX changes in selection. I've been on the fence until the last week but now it's time to get rid. Almost anybody you care to find off the street would do better until the end of the season. I expect we'll win 6-0 now but I'll happily take the abuse if so.

  31. Just when you think LJ is teetering on the edge of the axe, he tends to grind out a spawny undeserved 1-0. I think that’ll happen today.

  32. it will be completely typical of Bristol City FC to go and win this one 4-0. or lost 3-0. You just never know......

  35. I really like everything that Ben Garner says and what's he's trying to achieve. But mostly, I like the results he's getting. Seriously, trying to play good football, taking personal responsibility all good things. He's actually everything I want a manager to busy bee. Of course, he's utterly failing. But he sounds like the guy I want...

  36. To call LJ an idiot says more about you than about him........he has his faults, but is far from being an idiot.......if you don't like his tactics fair enough, but what you state is just glib nonsense, stop hiding behind your keyboard and acting like a numpty

  41. What a joke. Sign a proven in form Championship striker at last and don't play him. In such an important game, he is not required to start. Why did he sign him then. No one but Johnson could turn team selection in to such a farce and no one but Lansdown could sit back and let it hapoen

  43. Really interested to see how we play / line-up today. This is not a typical a MIllwall opponent. It is hard-working, energetic, but apart from a big, ugly back three of Cooper, Williams and Pearce, it is a footballing side that can mix it. This is not a Millwall midfield of the Terry Hurlock era. It is Ryan Woods, the diminutive ginger midfielder formerly of ball-playing Brentford, who lost his mojo at Stoke (seems to have happened to a number of players!) and Jayson Molumby, a 20 year old on loan from BHA. Flanked by Romeo, where for art thou Romeo....well he’ll be playing high-up as a RWB trying to squeeze our wide midfielders back and Murray Wallace, ok, he can be a bit physical. Then they have a front three, who will stop any attempt to play out via our full-backs. Bodvarsson will stop Hunt, Jed Wallace on Dasilva. Bradshaw, the CF who was never quite good enough to be a transfer target for us, working between the two to close off the CBs, whilst Molumby pins to the nearest of our CMs. With the ball, the three strikers are always on the half-turn when Woods or Molumby have the ball, but not adverse to the RCB hitting Bodvarsson on the diagonal. They remind me a bit of Preston a couple of seasons back....that’s worrying. I will be especially looking to see what Lee and his assistants have picked up from the home game. There are huge gaps down the sides of the CBs in behind the high WBs. We can get territory by playing those channels. Pumping the ball to Fam in a 4141 is likely to be futile unless we can get runners close to him. Time for Lee to earn his corn. If the players aren’t executing what they were brilliant in on the training ground, either the players aren’t playing for him (I don’t think that) or the training itself isn't representative of match day. It is this I’m quite worried about. Safe journey travelling fans. Let’s hope we see a result and performance akin to last season.

  45. I note you don't say what event you were at. So I am going to say you were at Take That, because you're their biggest fan, and any attempt to deny it, or claims that you were at either of the other events will just go to confirm that you LOVE Take That even more that my original accusation. So, long story short. You love Take That. No returns. You also love Cardiff too.

  48. Sorry to tell you but no one in Spain often simply says "black" in Spanish to refer to someone. It's like John Terry saying "you black." He isn't going to do it. No one does. Black is meant to just add to the message. If what you say is true, best guess he said "Negrito" which means "little black" but basically "little N". Either way based on his back four I'm not betting on him giving out instruction in Spanish so whatever people heard, it would translate, even to Leko too. I will tell you with plenty of knowledge that Spain isn't historically somewhere that has eliminated racism even from casual chat, so it isn't like the accusation is outlandish. But I for one will reserve judgment if there is no proof as otherwise we condone what happened to Famara last season.
