  1. Hahahahaha, a £15,000 IWC. SL probably wears one of those when he’s grouting the bathroom.

  3. Spot on - **** em - they tried to steal Ashton Gate from us when we were on our knees, and ever since they trot out the same old shite - “we’re the oldest league club in Bristol, we’ve been around since 1883, you’ve been around since 1982”... I always respond to that crap with stuff like: There has been a football club called Bristol Rovers FC since 1899 There has been a football club called Bristol City FC since 1897 Bristol Rovers FC joined the football league in 1920 Bristol City FC joined the football league in 1901 Bristol City FC has played continuously in the football league for the last 119 years Bristol Rovers FC has played continuously in the football league for the last 4 and a half years Bristol City FC has played at its current home for 116 years Bristol Rovers FC has played at its current home for 24 years ....they listen to all this and then just gawp, with gormless open mouths and nothing to add - because they can’t argue with any of it - they then just slowly turn away and slink off back to their mothers’ back bedrooms to think about the truth ...

  4. Perhaps Wael feels slightly bullish now that he's sailing alone. Problem is, as the saying in Texas goes, he's all hat and no cattle.

  5. All true and conveniently ignored by Gasheads and, sadly not known by many City fans. The fact that we never actually went bankrupt is also omitted. A deal was agreed with the creditors for payments of 20pence in the pound, this was agreed with creditors and after payment of all agreed debts, the company was wound up. The registration of the club as a football league member never lapsed and as such we have ALWAYS been BCFC regardless of an admin change.

  6. Really? After decades of rubbing 1982 in our faces? Getting on their high horses over the AG8 and our financial difficulties nearly 40 years ago. Many, many Gasheads would love to see us disappear, I know because over the years they’ve said so openly on Social Media. Staggering lack of self awareness from the Saghead who posted that.

  7. Couple of remarks from asschat Because rest assured, this club is on the edge of oblivion. Even genuine City fans sympathise with us at the moment with the people running our club Um I don’t think we do

  8. Yes, but spunking 24million of a 100million fortune (questionable) is far more concerning than INVESTING 200million of a near 2Billion fortune..!

  10. A man takes his dog to the cinema. They sit there together, watching the movie and the dog is absolutely loving it. He's crying at the sad parts. Laughing at the funny bits. After the movie, they're leaving the theatre and a movie-goer comes up to them and says "Hey man, I just saw you and your dog in there, watching the film. It was amazing". He said, pointing to the dog "He looked like he was absolutely loving it! He was crying at the sad parts, laughing at the funny bits..." The man replies "Yeah I know, it's crazy... because he hated the book".

  11. I don't. Sooner they go bust the better. The only ones I would feel sorry for would be the staff who would lose out.

  12. It does seem players are being paid in full. Inaction from players and club is beginning to leave a bad taste tbh. Other clubs are doing more for their communities. We have a rich owner with proud Bristolian heritage, and players earning more in a month than many of the non-playing staff or local residents will earn in a year. Could it be possible to: - Donate a % of player wages to support non-playing staff - Make a donation to local hospices, which are now in dire financial straits just as they could play a major role particularly if there is a trend for some towards palliation vs treatment - Use the Gate as a community hub for storage and distribution of food aid or medical supplies - Retain commercial catering supply chains and offer meals to those in close proximity Surely more can be done in extraordinary times?

  13. If and its a big If , if Rovers did go bust and City survived , couldn't see any reason why the two clubs would merge , how could you merge with something they don't exist. Why we would change are name etc , fantasy to think that would happen.

  14. The shutdown of sport worldwide has revealed, in particularly , for football, the precarious nature of the business. Will the governing bodies take the opportunity to reset the rules ? Will clubs now realise that paying more for wages than you bring in must stop and now ? Will players accept less money in the future to ensure that their sport survives ? Will TV companies reduce their offers ? Will Joe Public stop paying ridiculous percentages of their household budget for Sky and company ? I really hope the answer to all these questions is a resounding ‘ yes ‘ and that some ‘ good ‘ can come out of this crisis. This is a wake up call.

  16. Nailed it, I have a good mate who has had a season ticket for years, we take the piss but I'd feel for him a little if they died. As for the rest, and I do know others , no sympathy . Just like the "tax dodger ' thing they loved to throw at Lansdown ( made his money and paid millions in taxes over the years in UK) , now they have to admit their dodgy owner that the club are in massive debt to are based in an offshore 'tax haven' in the words of the Post. If you looked up hypocrite in the dictionary , I bet there would be a pic of a gAsshead.

  19. No link mate. Walk through every day and briefly stopped to chat to security guard - safe distance of course. You could see the supplies ready for distribution. No idea who is organising.

  21. No swipe at anyone, just suggesting that there is an opportunity to help out at an acute time of need. Many people are getting their full wage, many won’t be. A good objective metric for this being huge increase in applications for Universal Credit.

  22. Lots of people - I would suggest most - are receiving their full wages. NHS staff, council staff, civil servants, MPs. pretty much every office worker. Footballers will be training every day; just not playing games. Isn't this just another swipe at the level of their wages? For which you should blame club owners for sanctioning those wages.

  24. I think BBS3 has got the right end of the stick Eddie, the few sensible gasheads can see that if he is paying in £3m a year to maintain the club, it doesn't leave much room for any investment, let alone that required to make them competitive in Bristol or anywhere else.

  26. Maybe that's more likely. I had them flagged for selling off the ground to recoup their money by this point and then selling what was left of the club on eBay so I've been proven wrong on that score.

  27. No. I admit I don't share the active dislike but I have been very much taking the piss and was pointing out a few pages ago that the financial guarantee expired in May. Since they I have been wrong-footed by the accounts coming out early and the statement from Wael about carrying on as they are. That's a big change and instead of counting down to the point when the equity would be exhausted I now think that doesn't matter and they'll be fine for several years at least. That I recognise the change in their financial situation doesn't make me a closet gashead; piss-taking will now need to be confined to the state of their ground, that they have somehow appointed a PE teacher as manager, and that they are sliding down the league a rare of knots.

  29. Exactly this. Many clubs with debt have invested in structure (stadium) and or team to create a basis on which to repay the debt. The others are heading the way of Bury. Which road do Rovers fans think they are heading down..?!

  30. You hit the nail on the head. Without large investment and ultimately sustainable investment the majority of football league clubs would be in the same predicament. That is why our ground's had investment, that's why the training facility is being built, that's why there's plans for the arena and further developments to help to offset future investment in the Football/Rugby to make it more sustainable. In other words there's a massive difference between the two professional (in its broadist sense) football clubs of Bristol, and the gap is getting wider. In fact I would further go on to say that the more we progress both on and off the field only goes to further highlight those inadequacies.

  32. A couple of years ago.. I was about to propose to my girlfriend.. When her friend Joseph barged in out of nowhere, tripped & fell over, breaking a glass table with his face.. Now.. I didn't know Joseph THAT well.. Don't even remember where he was from.. Joseph had gotten a big glass shard in his eye, making him completely blind in that eye.. He was walking around with one of those cotton pads on his eye for a couple of months.. Then suddenly, he disappeared, along with my girlfriend Apparently.. They'd bonded during the time after his injuries, and eloped together.. Left me behind without so much as a note.. I tried to track them down, but never could.. In conclusion.. If it hadn't been for cotton eye Joe.. I'd have been married a long time ago.. Where did you come from? Where did you go? Where did you come from, cotton eye Joe?

  36. Seems some are finally waking up in Horfield; "£23m in debt and you still have to stand on a sh**ty terrace and wade through 4 inches of piss to go to the toilet. This is all going to end badly. Crowds over the next 10 years will decline. You only have to look at the number of supporters at the mem who are 65+ to realise that."

  38. If that indeed is the case, I think in my lifetime I’m going to see China rise from a Fourth World Country to World Leader and then back again. I’m no international lawyer, but assume there is a case for them to be sued for trillions. The case, I assume, would based on the administration allowed the continuance of activities that posed a known high risk to human health, added to that, the governance ‘system’ tried to suppress news of the current outbreak. Think they deserve all they get, any Country that permits boiling dogs alive should not be part of the civilised world in my opinion.
