  1. ...and this is why, as I mentioned a couple of pages ago, I have little sympathy with their situation (not that I think that they’re that close to the edge). I appreciate that not EVERY Gashead wants us to go out of business and fold but it does seem that the majority would love nothing more than for City to disappear for good. So to every Gashead who has called us ‘82ers’, every Gashead who has bored other clubs fans about our financial troubles 40 years ago, every Gashead who has said how they can’t wait for SL to go and leave us in the shit..... **** YOU!

  2. On the 14th of December the 15ers beat Ipswich 2-1 at Portman Road to move 4th in League 1, two points from second with a game in hand. Since then: Their manager walked out on them for Mansfield in League 2 ? His replacement managed to win just 2 league games in the next 3 months seeing them fall down the table ? The club reveal a 24 million pound debt and a 3.4 million pound loss ? One director resigns and the chairman kicks another off the board leaving Wally to run the club like a dictatorship ? The supporters club and the supporters implode and start fighting each other accusing Wally of not being fit and proper to run the club and not issuing shares to the supporters club. ? All of this in the middle of a viral pandemic which may bring some football clubs to their financial knees. They truly are the gift that keeps on giving.

  3. Does that include clubs who are 1 point off the play offs..... You can't decide the fate of this season until you know when football is allowed to restart, if things take a turn for the worse we may not even see any football until the new year at which point there isn't really any point in starting a new season and you may as well make it a 19/20/21 season. Flip side if cases rapidly decreased in say 4 weeks or so for whatever miraculous reason then you'd have time to finish this season and adjust next season to perhaps just having no domestic cups which creates several more mid week slots. Most of society is waiting indefinitely for life to recommence so can football, no decisions need to be taken soon.

  4. What annoys me is how everything is driven by money. Football isn’t important, it’s just a game, yet somehow we’ve let money and greed consume it. The truth is it really wouldn’t matter if we just stopped this season and started again in August/September. It really doesn’t matter. When you pose arguments for why we should finish it, the truth is they always boil down to money. Sad and depressing .

  5. Maybe next Thursday we should stand on our doorsteps and give a round of applause to the posters of gaschat. I mean to take the time when the world is in such a dark place and provide more than half of our fair city with such quality light hearted entertainment to lift the spirits deserves recognition I'd say!

  7. I think the government could be missing a trick here. They should be seeking advice from BRFC. They have been setting the standards for what we are all doing now, for a long, long while. Staying at home - Social distancing on the terraces - Panic bulk buying stock (which then goes out of date) - Putting complete faith in the words of their leader -

  8. Can you imagine the hilarity if the 15ers had a series like “Sunderland ‘till I Die”? Just imagine what goes on behind the scenes at that place. ?

If it's to do with the inept way the club is being run well that's something else. I ******* hate you as a poster. You and your fantasist SC mates. I hate your continually poisonous bullshit on here and anywhere you can spread it. Why don't you all **** off and club together to buy Larkhall FC so you can live out your Walter Mitty dreams of being football club owners and leave BRFC alone you deluded, self promoting, circle-w**king, dinosaurs. Dont sugar coat it. Say what's on your mind.

  10. All this recent stuff actually makes for pretty sad reading - the roverzzzz seem to be teetering towards oblivion in the same way the most drunk girl on a hen night does in six inch heels ... and to think they have constantly taunted us about what would happen to us when Lansdown “gets bored and pulls his money out” - oh, well, they might just be realising that their doomsday scenario for us just ain’t gonna happen....but theirs? Well, that must seem just a little bit real right now - they thought they had a billionaire new owner = no, they thought they were the sixth richest club in England overnight = no, they were mouthing ‘unlucky da shit’ on social media platforms = no, they thought they were getting a new training ground = no, they told us they had outgrown the Mem and were getting a new stadium = no - so all their hopes have crashed on the rocks of dreams - and they are right back where they started, a tinpot little club that will never go anywhere in the world of football ... oh well, **** ‘em ....?

  11. But for every Leeds & Liverpool there’s a Villa.

  12. Earlier on in the crisis they showed live Italian /French league games behind closed doors - like watching a better class of pub football without the passion. Fans are part of the game and playing behind closed doors should be opposed at every level, it is even handed out as a punishment. Imagine watching Liverpool celebrate winning the league at an empty Anfield . Football is all about fans and without them really what is the point.

  14. You couldn’t be more wrong. cancelling obviously guarantees staying up. However, we have a game in hand over all our rivals. Furthermore, we have 6 games out of the remaining 10 at home. Some of those rivals only have 4 home games left. Finally, our key midfielder will be fit enough to return from injury. Our slide started when he came out of the team. we have no chance of doing a Sunderland and if we go down, we’d have over £100m to spend on players without even touching the parachute money. you lot are miles off the likes of Fulham, forest and Brentford. You’ve no chance of promotion.

  15. He is called Brian, so I can understand the confusion regarding who he is. He's an old Tote Ender, I think he's on Twitter as Tote End Brian (or something similar) - I don't know him personally. Brian Seymour Smith used to post on there under his own name. Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right - happy days! ?

  21. Ah yes, Johnny Harding..........the guy that tried to get me and my mate thrown out of the "hospitality suite" at Trumpton (1-1, Super Bob's debut) because he knew we were gert teds, despite that we had been invited by a more senior Rovers president (at the time) and we were in our best bib and tucker ! Mr Harding was told in no uncertain terms by said "worthy" to mind his own business and don't be so childish !

  22. Delta you sound like the kind of man who could start an argument in an empty room - I'd suggest trotting off and focussing on your "big boy rivalries" Staggered as to why you're even quoting Fordy - stating that Villa would like the season cancelled is pretty obvious, nothing to do with being "rivals" God I wish the pubs would open again.

  23. Until this I felt it was only fair and necessary to ensure Liverpool were able to finish their season and win the title. Now, sod it - cancel the season.

  27. Ken Masters (the director suspended and then resigned) has just been on radio interviewed by 20man. Says he has no idea why he was suspended and had to resign as he wouldn't sign off the accounts. Unfortunately it was a very weak interview by 20man and he didn't ask why - wasted opportunity, just wanted to know what the bloke would advise the next supporters club director in terms of what the job entails. KM started to say that a director can be held personally responsible and 20man interrupted him. Whole thing was about 2 minutes. He should have pressed KM to dig the dirt and find out exactly why he wouldn't sign off the accounts.

  30. Maybe Wael, like Malcolm McClaren before him, is a Situationist and whole thing is actually an ongoing piece of public performance art. As the Sex Pistols was McClaren's detournement or situationist prank so is Bristol Rovers Wael's prank. It may be hilarious but it is also perhaps art? A détournement is a technique developed in the 1950s by the Letterist International,[7][8] and consist in "turning expressions of the capitalist system against itself,"[66] like turning slogans and logos against the advertisers or the political status quo.[67] Détournement was prominently used to set up subversive political pranks, an influential tactic called situationist prank that was reprised by the punk movement in the late 1970s[68] and inspired the culture jamming movement in the late 1980s.[66 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Situationist_International

  31. I agree. There's absolutely no reason for not concluding the season provided it becomes safe to do so - even if this is behind closed doors. Worry about the format and timing of the next season when this one is over. Of course it may be a very long time before anything approaching normality resumes & we can watch football again at the Gate.

  33. It's brilliant. After all their family club nonsense and slating of gurt teds / sheeds as thugs it turns out that most of them could start a fight in a phone box. Honourable exceptions for @In the Net and @Miah DennehyDennehy. This is another reason why we won't be merging: the fan base is small but like a Jack Russell it's also nasty.

  34. My personal thoughts are that football will run to a completion All remaining games will be played behind closed doors The EFL games will be played Sunday/Wednesday/Sunday with ALL games games being broadcast live. With three games at midday three games at 2pm three games at 4pm and two games at 6pm on sundays, with the full use of the red button to cover all the games on Sundays Premier league will transmit all game live Saturday/Tuesday/Saturday spread over the day on Saturdays. Sky sports will not be allowed show the match's in locations where a large amount of football fans congregate. Although the match's could be broadcast over seas in bars and clubs although I am not sure how the it would be implemented depending on which countries the games are being shown Live games will only be allowed to be shown in your own homes.only Teams who have nothing to play for, towards the end of the season will not need to fulfil fixtures, this includes the Premier league and the EFL leagues. Although I don't know if you get extra money the further up the league/s you finish. My suggestions are that the 3rd and 4th divisions of the EFL to be regionalised for one season only in 2020/2021 to reduce travel costs and get more fans to attend away games in the 3rd and 4th tier Premier league and EFL games to be allowed to broadcast BBC local radio match day commentaries over the Internet. Local cricket local rugby and the FA Cup match's are is allowed to be broadcast over the internet. Local EFL games are allowed to be broadcst on freeview, depending on your location National league(thats Yeovil) are allowed to be broadcast over the internet So why is there a blocked on EFL games broadcast over the internet? Talksport 2 to be put on the Freeviw and the Sky platforms so fans could listen where ever they are in U.K. (as well as Europe) So there you have it,its my thoughts only.

  36. This is a story to inspire you to reach for your dreams and never, ever give up. Many years ago my mate's missus came a close second in the Miss England 1997 competition. Later that year she was beset by a long period of bad luck. She suffered years of drug and alcohol abuse and a series of eating disorders. She lost a leg and needed facial reconstruction surgery after a road traffic accident. Later, she suffered 90% burns in an unprovoked acid attack. Several of her teeth were knocked out and an eye gouged out in a fight outside a KFC takeaway. The stress caused severe hair loss and facial warts. But she NEVER stopped believing and then finally, last month, she was crowned Miss Scotland 2020

  37. To update on the frontloading/advance of payments, @ChubStixx According to The Athletic- I'm not a subscriber but a friend told me- 50% of next seasons solidarity payment. So we'd benefit toi the tune of £2-2.5m therefore- plus the £10m that the PL pay to the EFL under EPPP, so whatever % of that we'd get- unsure if that's halved too.

  39. A lady took her dog to the vets as it was deaf. The vet found the dogs ears were blocked with hair. The vet cleared the blockage and gave the lady some advice. 'To stop this happening again get some Vair hair remover. The lady heads to the store to buy some Vair and reaches the till. Cashier: If you're using this under your arms, don't use any deodorant for a few days. Lady: It's not for my arms. Cashier: If you're using it on your legs, don't wear anything right on your legs for a few days. Lady: It's not for my legs, it's for my schnauzer. Cashier: Don't ride a bike for a week.
