  1. It pleases me that I know they're not all like these clowns. I've got some real great mates who are passionate followers of the Rovers, and all credit to them for picking a local side (obviously the wrong one mind) Today I was told that one of these mates lost his battle to cancer, so for the next week my FB profile picture is of my mate, wearing his comedy jesters outfit at a works do last year. Football has no colours in these circumstances. R.I.P. Chappers.

  2. I know quite a few Gasheads and I can assure you they also ‘socially distance’ themselves from soap and toothpaste...but that’s nothing, a few years ago the whole club socially distanced themselves from the entire Football League.

  4. And I'm saying , corona virus was a big worry when tickets when on sale. I only highlighted what was happening in my household the reasons why I haven't renewed, to highlight that it would be the same ( and much worse) in many other cases. I think my family will be fine btw , in reality , if things don't work out all that well, it will probably just mean I will have to curtail things like football, rugby. horse racing and generally pissing my money up against the wall, rather than having to worry where the next meal is coming from, but I do thank everyone for their kind messages. Of course it's a piss taking thread and I don't think any -sane- Rovers fan could deny that your support , especially season ticket wise, absolutely blows ours out of the water, I was just pointing out that the figure of 600 for this season, has a lot more to do with people's personal finances and/or worries about the future , than it does to do with the fact that our football team/club is currently even more of a shambles than it usually is

  5. Exactly yeah, there's no way to please everyone and account for every situation in this time and clubs need to accept its an exceptional circumstance regardless how badly they come off

  6. Yes, assuming safety / transmission isn’t compromised, I say they are treated like injured players. In most cases they’ll be back within two weeks...or quicker with a negative test. Sounds a bit harsh, but that’s why you have a squad.

  7. Hmm, sounds the sort of comment that would chime in the halls of power. With the red carpet rolled out for Man Utd's newly reformed team in recent years, it would not surprise me if that turns out to be a big factor in shaping the next season. I would also agree that if we had (and were for much of the season, don't forget) at the bottom of the WSL then we would almost certainly be relegated on an incomplete set of results. Will Liverpool go? One big criticism of the WSL is that it is not a meritocracy.

  8. Pretty much, there's no way to please everyone, if her suggested in the champ included Cardiff you'd get arguments from Blackburn about why they should miss out being 1 point behind Cardiff if they hypothetically had an easier run in etc

  9. Yes sorry I got mixed up. I read Ronniie o'Sullivan's book and he mentions his best time being sub 35 and was going to quit snooker to try and get his time lower so that he could run for Essex as he thought he maybe able to knock more minutes off. Runs sub 35 10k's and makes centurys with either hand in snooker.

  11. As a post script to this, I caught a bit of Simon Jordan on Talksport today. The absurd level of players' wages has been a hobby horse of his for some time and from what he said today it seems clear that he thinks that the financial landscape of football will change as a result of covid 19 and that players, agents and the PFA need to get their heads around this as he doesn;t think they can expect anything like the same contracts have they have enjoyed in the past. He wasn't just talking about the immediate aftermath of the virus, i.e. while clubs revenues are reduced while games are played behind closed doors, he sees this change being a long term one.

  12. Miah an organisation that I'm a part of have been running a fund for Bristol care workers that aren't able to work. We don't have much to give, but if things are tight drop us an email careworkersnetworkbristol@gmail.com or message me. If not needed then even letting wife's colleagues know etc would be great! Also goes for anyone else reading that works in health and social care and I struggling due to the current situation.
